I have just bought a preowned Emergency with coral face does anybody know when they were introduced and were they released in limited numbers?

It's not limited, just one of the regular colour options. Assuming that it's the more modern super quartz (SQ) version the model was available from 2002. Earlier non SQ version was available back in '95.
