Look at Altair's pic. It is actually red. I think the alternating red/ white creates an unintended optical illusion of some orange tinge.

And they have cleverly extended that effect to the stitching on the strap. You've got to give them points for consistency.

The red is the same red as in the stock picture, and the band stitching is identical.

Very weird. The original publicity pictures looked great (except for the red "shadow" on the numerals IMO), but the real-world pictures look horrible. I think Breguet are one brand who REALLY need to stick to the classic pieces.

IMO they dumbed it down. I don't mean to suggest this version might not appeal to a lot of people, but as the showcase for the new 72,000 bph movement? Really? And at a price tag of $20,000? Really?

The original Type XXII, which evidently was never released, was a step up from the Type XXI in appearance IMO. The actual production model is a big step down from the Type XXI IMO.

I was "this close" to pre-ordering a Type XXII just one year ago, but opted for the Type XXI. I would have been royally POed waiting an extra year and then seeing this watch.
