wow that is interesting FEAR. Im curious to know were the buyers at the show older or younger deomgraph. youre right alot of people on here hate the new breitlings me being one of them. so im just curious
most were older, 40+
This doesn't surprise me at all. We are comparing the new models to a lot of existing models we loved and were discontinued. The view of the majority of this site does not reflect the majority of folks who will buy a Breitling. Most purchases, I assume, are of a first Breitling. These folks go to the display and don't see what most of us see - the models we loved replaced by models we either dislike or are luke warm to. We see the obliteration of the Superocean line, the odd looking Chronomat, etc... We are also more attuned to the price issue. The average Breitling buyer doesn't know what a standard Navi cost last year.
There still exists the notion of conspicuous consumption - the higher the price tag the more a meaningful segment of potential buyers will be attracted to it.
Having been to Barrett Jackson several times, I'm not at all surprised it was a sell out. A guy dropping $9K on a watch at B-J goes home happy he saved $191K on the car he might have bought.
