That's an interesting perspective because the implications (to me) of that post are that you would rather buy something that you are
less comfortable with now on the basis of evolving tastes.
Now I'll freely admit that I may have completely misinterpreted the comment, but I think it's important to be comfortable with what you have today. I am very much in the minority here by not selling watches, and if you do 'grow out of' a watch in the future you can always sell it and replace it with a Rolex or whatever appeals at that point. In the meantime you have the enjoyment of a piece that you can enjoy today.
It may be a change from your original thought process of buying a watch that would stay with you forever, but it's better (in my mind) than buying a watch that isn't really you today because you think it will be you in 5, 10, 20 years.
