Hey,

I have something I love to look at on my wrist, it catches my eye, and I admire it, the engineering skill and craftsmanship it took to make it, the detail, even the strap is a work of art, I enjoy wearing it when going out, I think it says something about me, even if its just to say he must have money to throw away on expensive trinkets................................... oh and look................................ I just discovered it tells the time as well !!!!!!

The Tissot will only ever just tell the time.

Ian. (not biased at all)

One other thought........

The Tissot is the pre SQ Aerospace movement. How much would a pre SQ movement Aerospace be now? Not sure of the answer but it would be a much closer price comparison to the Tissot.

An old Navitimer Aerospace sold here in the UK on the bay yesterday for under £500

OK I know a lot of people wont like this question but IMHO it has to be asked (again)

I can go and buy a Brand new Tissot Titanium Multifunction watch T65.7.588.61

Its the same movement as a Breitling Aerospce its made of the same case material etc its in a box and has 2 years waranty etc etc,It costs $429/£264.032

I look at a Breitling Aerospace and its virtualy the same watch bar the name on the front yet its $2k/£1k plus

Why?

I am a Beitling fan and love the brand and own Lings and intend to purhase more but I cannot for the life of me see why the same watch with a diffrent name on costs $1500/£900 more are the maufacturing./marketing/admin costs so much higher,Is it brand premium.

Please some one justify to me the price difference as I am struggling to reason it in my mind.

1. The Tissot is fugly
2. The Tissot is not a Breitling - You know what I mean
3. Calling the movement "the same" is an oversimplification that you're probably aware of, but the price difference is forcing you to ignore
4. Paying that much for a watch that is barely out of the Joe Blow mainstream is the problem; not that the Breitling costs a little more.

Ask her why she wants a Chloe/Gucci/LV handbag when one from the market is just as good for storing all the crap women want to cart around!

As for Breitling v Tissot, I don't think you can find any rational way to justify the price difference. It's a purely emotional decision based on your perception of the brand.

You would be better off asking ARCHIE this question

Archie has no problem spending big bucks. He buys $700 laundry detergent.

where is Archie? I haven't seen anything from him in a while. Also, the Tissot sucks.

With the Tissot....and you're in the theater watching "The Taking of Pelham 123" your girlfriend who knows nothing about watches doesn't squeeze your arm and whisper: "John Travolta has one of those watches like yours too!" Yeah..I know, it was a silly little moment. But it felt so good...

I refer to my watches as "wrist bling". It's jewelry that can tell time. You buy what makes you happy.

One of my coworkers went to Japan this past summer and left behind his watch (Rolex) so while there he went to the "everything's 100 yen" store and bought a watch. About $1 US. Seriously. Probably keeps better time than the Rolex, but no one is going to think it looks as nice.
