Not feeling the Omega. I have looked at the many Omega pictures on here as well as tried on some at ADs, and there is something about them that I can not put my finger on that makes me not like them.

Just resurrecting this Ploprof 2009 thread again.

Does anyone, ANYONE AT ALL, know when this damn thing is going to be released?!?!?!?!?

It's all gone as quiet as a church mouse convention out there in interweb-land since Baselworld. :?

I called an Omega AD today in Dallas, Tx. and he said it's scheduled for release in July. He may be full of it too.

I think we might have another Deepsea situation here, at first a few samples will be released. Then a slow and steady stream wich will keep prices high and availability low.

Lets not forget that the original PloProf had a cult following, almost all Omega fanatics will want one, and they have been buying pieces from their AD for years, which makes the chances of us getting one slimmer.

I am thinking of this as a 2010-2011 purchase if I do decide on one.

I shouldn't really be linking to another watch forum(!), but this review of the new Ploprof is the first I'm aware of and it's a pretty good one at that. Good pictures too.

Oh and while I thoroughly understand that the styling is not to everyone's taste, I defy anyone to say that it doesn't look like the manliest watch EVER made in the history of the world in the wrist shots photos! Fantastic stuff!

Just thought I'd mention that I FINALLY managed to try on a the new Omega Ploprof today, and............................. it's absolutely AWESOME!

Undoubtedly the best watch I've seen and tried on in a long time. The 48mm x 55mm case is perfect as it actually wears smaller than an SA due to the bracelet attaching to the case without the traditional lugs sticking out. It fitted superbly on me. I think that PAM 270 I've been after for ages will be on the back burner for a little longer!

Yep, they are out - RRP here in the UK is £4800 GBP. I guess usual discounts will apply (so, not much in the UK, quite a bit elsewhere!)

I totally agree about not putting it above a 270, but with the economy still like it is I'm much more comfortable parting with £5K as I would be parting with £10K at the moment! And I do fancy them both at the end of the day. :)
