http://cgi.ebay.com/Michael-Jackson-own ... dZViewItem

I purchased this watch in 2008 from a Beverly Hills watch Collector. This watch was purchased new in early 2006 by the " The King of Pop" Michael Jackson as indicated by the Rolex paperwork. The paper work shows Michael Jackson as purchaser. It also shows Michael Jackson's address. I will not disclose this to anyone but the winning bidder. The address has been verified as to belonging to "The King of Pop"

The watch is a Rolex Submariner 16610LV with a D serial number. As noted above it was purchased new in early 2006. The watch is in mint condition with all boxes and papers. I sell and purchase quite a few watches, so I understand the value of a Rolex Submariner 16610LV with a D serial number, However, I dont know the value of the same watch that was purchased and owned by Michael Jackson. I'm sure it's significantly more. Therefore, I will let the market decide what this rare item is worth.

The watch is gently used and in mint condition. All boxes and papers are included. If you have any questions please ask. If you have 0 feedback, please do not bid without seeking approval first or I will have to cancel your bid.

Obviously not my auction

If now MJ did buy this watch, why would Rolex print the paperwork that says they sold it to the "King of pop" and give it to him? Isnt it more likely that they would give it to him for free and try and make it a PR number?

I think we will soon enough see all sorts of stuff that used to belong to MJ, his toothbrush, his socks....... or used condoms?.....

An interesting (and no doubt valuable) item IF it truly was once owned by MJ : A distinctly LESS interesting item if someone picked up a Rolex LV with blank papers and decided to fill in MJ's name and address in an attempt to cash in on the guy's sad demise. :?

Without better guarantees of provenance I think this will go for around about what a "standard" LV goes for.

Thats what I was thinking. 50 bucks says you can go into any AD and buy a Rolex and fill in MJ's name and address on the paperwork and nobody would say anything. ALl of the sudden you have MJ's Rollie.

Went for about $6k, a little more than normal, but not a lot.
