Drjazz,

I would think that the Bentley would be the way to go for a DOC. It's a FULL LING and it's flat and streamlined unlike the Super Avenger. I have both myself and the Bentley is very large in diameter but flat and it rides the wrist very smoothly. Now that you are a doctor you will be able to buy the Super Avenger soon to go along with the Bentley and these 2 make a great FULL LING combo. Then you could add a Navitimer World or Legende to the collection to create variety. After that you could move on to all Gold Lings and other great watches like Carl Bucherer and Zenith. A doctor should have about 15 great watches but I think the Bentley is the best starting watch.

Welcome to the club.

I'm a sucker for a timpiece with a black dial. If you are looking for something streamlined, the Bentley is a great choice. I'm not a fan of the 6.75, but I do like the Motors T. Either way, you're going with the FULL LING.

The Super Avenger is an awesome piece, but wearing one around patients might test the malpractice insurance early. Getting wacked in the head with a Super Avenger may cause dizziness, blurred vision, and diarrhea (Defecating when they see the size of the watch that wacked them!).

Congrats on finishing school, and good luck with your decision.

~Brian

Brian that's funny! I can actually vouch for the possible injury with an SA. I wore mine to bed about a week ago and woke with a small cut in my forehead. I have a habit of putting my arm on my head or eyes when I sleep. Or maybe my wife just got in a cheap shot!

Gotta disagree with you on that quote I'm afraid Altair. Sure the SA is simpler in design than the Bentley range, but I've seen no evidence whatsoever of subpar fit or finish. I've not owned a Bentley, but I've handled a few, and I have owned 6 other Breitlings, and the finish on the SA is identical.... albeit just with a simpler design.

daniel welcome to the club. congrats on graduating. i have a black motors t and i think it looks great. i was in the same boat as altair about the 5 o'clock date and wanted a 6.75 instead, but none were available in korea so i just opted for the motors t. low and behold one month later the ad got a shipment of 6.75s. however, after comparing them side by side, i think the motors t looks better, and thats not just me trying to make myself feel better haha.

c'mon isnt that a sweet looking dial??? and a better bezel to boot!

Where you guys are, are doctors actually allowed to wear wristwatches? Here they aren't unless they're in the office for consultancy. Out with patients, neither wristwatches nor bracelets are allowed.

Anyway, I think I chime in and vote for a 6.75...

Just wanted to thank everyone for their thoughts and insight! Heading off to the AD later this evening to once again, try both the Motors and the 6.75 on! The ultimate "kid in a candy store" feeling! Will keep everyone in the loop as to decisions that are made. Thanks again!

Drjazz,

Get the MOTORS because it's all polished which a Doctor should have and it has the 30 second chronograph which may come in handy when checking a pulse for beats per minute.

A quick update... First and foremost, many thanks to everyone that has chimed in and offered their opinions. After much deliberation, I finally decided upon and purchased the Bentley Motors T with black dial. Although I was fairly certain that I wanted the gnurled bezel of either the motors or the 6.75, after seeing the motors t on my wrist, I knew that it was the watch for me! Watch should be arriving at the AD from Connecticut in just a few days. I will post pictures as soon as it gets here! Cant wait!!! Thanks again.

Are you mellowing there Ling Man?? I mean, the Motors T is a predominantly BRUSHED steel piece after all!

Great choice Daniel! First of many I hope!

Driver 8,

After all he IS a doctor so he will wise up and get the brushed portion polished out after he has had it for a while. Doctors have no business wearing watches that are geared for construction and cement mixing. But the Motors T is only half brushed so at least it still shines and like I said a quick polish job will rehabilitate it from it's slightly DEGRADED state.

If you do have a watched that is brushed and you pay someone to polish out the finish for you, let's say for example a steelfish since that is all brushed, does that void out the 2 year Breitling warranty? I don't even know if this is possible, so forgive me for asking this if it isn't. I'm just curious since I like the dial on the steelfish, but am not a huge fan of the brushed finish.

Thanks,
Justin

You can polish yourself very easily.

It shouldn't void any warranties.
