Folks, I have a few questions on a newly acquired Chrono Avenger (pre-loved).

I have checked the Pro I Titanium reference bracelet and the end links shows 880E, which shows that it is a Pro I Titanium for the CA.

My question is, for those of you CA owners with a Pro I Ti bracelet, the first link after the end links, what does it show? Mine shows 4800. Does it indicate it was made on the 48th week of year 2000? I'm basing it on this link http://www.breitlingsource.com/articles_dating.shtml

Also, with a Ti bracelet, it looks a little "shiny" to me. Can Titanium bracelets have that polished look if the wrong polishing cloth is used? What can I do to make it less "shiny"? Can a scotch brite be used? I heard that using a wet scotch brite (green) can give it that brushed look again.

Thx,

Vernon

That's correct about the date code.. it would put it on the 48th week of 2000. Scotch brite pads typically work well on Titanium and Stainless steel.. you don't need to wet it. I've never used a scotch brite pad on a CA specifically but i've used it on titanium and it does work, but there are different types of titanium.

I'll check my CA when I get home this afternoon to see what the bracelet says.

Thanks guys for the help.

I also notice that my date font is not as dark/black compared to the prior CAs that I had. The original purchase date for this CA was 2001, and the bracelet date code appears to conincide.

I wonder if Breitling changed their dial printer over time.

The sub dials on my CA also do no thave the concentric circles in there. There may be some changes over time that Breitling did?

I thought the CA never had concentric circles on the subdials.. I might be wrong though. Mine does not have concentric circles... now i'm curious!

My bracelet is made week 26 2000. Not sure if it makes you happy, but I said I'd come back with an answer...

One more question about the bracelet. I'm moving towards the clasp assembly.

Do the engraving on the clasp hinge assembly show:

"REGISTERED MODEL"
"NICKEL FREE BUCKLE"
"BREITLING"

Thanks,

Vernon

Again, I would need to check when I get home this evening (it's early morning in northern europe and I'm at work), but if my mind doesn't fail me my clasp have the same engravings (or if they're stamped/pressed). A bit funny, when I went to work this morning I decided between wearing my CA and another watch - the other watch won. Otherwise I could have helped you right away.

Yeah, looks like the newer dials have the concentric circles. The version that I have dating back to 2001 does not have one. I've confirmed this with another fella at TZ who has the same 2001 watch.

So it seems that Breitling have changed their dials on the CA slightly, namely:
- Different cut 8 on the dial;
- Date font colour intensity (different pad / date wheel printer);
- Sub dials having the concentric circles / or not

I believe that lighter date wheel phenonmenon is noticeable on many Breitling models... The newer ones have the painted wheels whereas older models have printed date wheels.
