Hi all!

Hooray! Just joined this forum :lingsrock: and becoming a true fan of Breiting eventhough i still have not got 1 :( :( . I need some advice and whether to get my 1st Breitling from an online source with cheaper price or from local dealer for full price with 0% finance or tiny discount paying in 1 lump sum? I'm located at Cardiff.

Breitling disswade (if that's a word) us from online sales. And with respect if it is your first it is easy to get a badun.

There is a great AD in Clifton Bristol if there are none in Cardiff.

Drop me a PM

If its your first one and its goind to be new, I'd also say stick to Authorised Dealers only. Sometimes you find they are offering just as good discounts as online resellers. Buying pre owned from online dealers is a diferent matter, as warranties are usually out of date anyway, although you still have to use some caution.

You have the Andrew Michaels banner at the top of the page. They probably have more stock than Breitling UK. Don't be fooled by the lack of models on their site as I was

Ernest Jones had some fantastic deals on older Ti Avengers, ie £1000 off  I've just been to Wharton Goldsmiths, they are knocking off the VAT on all models, others have 30% off.

So you see if you search around there are deals to be had while still getting that all important warranty book stamped

...........and to add back an 'online' alternative, you could try Banks Lyon they are a full AD and will be flexible on price if you ask, excellent service from them too.

Hi

I have bought my last two off Andrew Michaels (highly recommended) but have some experience of Cardiff AD's. The branch of Crouch the Goldsmiths on Mary street are good with friendly and helpful staff and will discount. A few years ago I took a Breitling into Watches of Switzerland in the St Morgans arcade for a link to be taken out of the bracelett, £30 I was quoted!! Of course I  in the mans face bought some Bergeon screwdrivers and have adjusted them myself ever since!

To demonstrate how things are seemingly never the same in the UK, I took my Herc into my local Watches of Switzerland (The Royal Exchange) and a guy in there did it on the spot and for free.

I've only ever dealt with WoS and Fraser Hart, and judging from my experiences, the best piece of advice is to find somewhere that has staff that are as passionate about watches as you are, not just someone that sees it as a job. I have dealt with 2 chaps in WoS, one who was definitely more style than substance - he was a bit of a nob and not very clued up, but when I took the Herc in, there was a new guy with a big Breitling badge on and I made a beeline for him and he was fantastic.
