Just joined the forum. New-found appreciation for watches and the workmanship that comes with >$1000 watches.

Planning to save up for a standard Chrono to start. Amazon sells it for $3,700 USD. Have heard that online dealers sell for 40-50% less than retail. Not comfortable about the risks though.

Wondering what people do for a living to justify such extravagant watches!

Welcome to BreitlingSource!

You'll find that the search function is useful at finding opinions for and against online dealers, and there are also some good AD introductions to get you some decent discounts - I can help out with a Canadian AD, and if you are looking for US then jnelson3097 can point you at the famous George at Govberg.

There are also a few threads on people's careers - again the search function can help you out.

Good luck pursuing your first Breitling.
