I work in law enforcement and have been wanting to change the finish of my Chrono Evo for some time for obvious reasons. I found a link from another forum to a company called industrial watch works www.industrialwatchworks.com. They do bead blasting on luxury watches to give them a uniformed matte finish. Has anyone heard of them? Any comments or reviews? Thanks!

not sure my ling would be the first watch to go...maybe a daily beater, first, to see how it looks, and to make sure it even comes back...

I've come across IWW before and while I've not used them personally, they do have a good reputation.

I contacted the Breitling service center for my area, and they said that they are not allowed to alter the watch's original finish due to Breitling's stipulations. Do you know of a Breitling service center that would do this?

There was a guy on here who had Breitling brush an Ocean Racer clasp for him, so I believe they will go as far as that. There was also another guy on here who said that Breitling brushed his Skyracer for him, and while I'm not disputing that, it's certainly not something I've ever come across. Breitling (as with most manufacturers) tend to be extremely protective of the look of their watches.

Also, Breitling don't actually do a bead or sand blasted finish, so if that was what you had your heart set on, your only option would be aftermarket. Just be aware that any aftermarket work will invalidate your warranty. Breitling will still service it, but you will have to pay.

I had the outer facing surface of the clasp on my Ocean Racer brushed by Breitling when I purchased my Steelfish. There didn't seem to be any reluctance on their part doing it. :D

Breitling don't do sand blasted finishes. They do brushed finishes, but not sand (or bead) blasted.

Breitling do sand blasting no current models to my knowledge but they had a old model which is dicontinued that was sand blasted that had polished middle on bracelet and polished chimney the rest sand blasted! And im sure every breitling service centre has a sand blasting machine as the backs of aerospaces are sand blasted and the middle of case backs also. so if you could get breitling to change the finish from the original i see no reason why they couldnt sand blast it.

Jack at IWW does excellent work, both bead/sand blasting as well as re-luming.
His website has plenty of examples and his prices are reasonable.

Jack at IWW bead-blasted a Seiko divers watch for me last year. He does great work and I would recommend to anyone. The finish was flawless and gives the watch a more tactical look to it. The bigger question is will Breitling service your watch if you change the finish? I’d be happy to send you a picture if you PM me but you can check out his website for better pics.

I am the guy who had his ocean racer "satin finished" by BUSA. I am not sure if it is because they now offer that clasp in satin as well as polished. It certainly is possible and would be best done by Breitling as they know the watch best. I think if you talk to the "right person" at BUSA you could get it done.

IWW as a great rep so no worries about that. But before you de-bling your ling with bead blasting, seriously consider getting another tool watch for work.
