Hi folks,
Thought I'd share my tale of regret with yourselves.
Back in 2003 I was part of the Blue Eagles display team. Our main sponsor was Breitling and we were all loaned new Aerospace's for the season. At the seasons end we were then offered the chance to purchase the watches at an obscene price just short of £400  being in my mid twenties and not fully appreciating an offer when its made, I declined   I have never forgiven myself for that.
For my 30th I so nearly was given one by my wife, but we ended going on an amazing trip around the world instead, so although I had a fantastic time, I was still a Breitling widower.
Now with a child on the way and no longer having the carefree "singly" spending allowance, I saw the faint sight of ever owning one disappear.
Last week, I did the unthinkable...EBay! If I had seen this forum and all the horror stories about fakes then I probably wouldn't have done it, but I saw an older Aerospace going and went for it (clearly with the domestic bankers permission  ) After one of those agonising 5 mins remaining as highest bidder, I won it for just over £500. Having paid via Paypal I wasn't overly concerned about a con, but all the same rushed it down to my dealers when it arrived and had them check the watch and paperwork. 5 more agonising minutes later, they confirmed its authenticity.

So, I know its not a spangly new one or even one of the more expensive models, but I always did love the aerospace and at last, have one!

Cheers, Benn. (one happy chappy!)

Must have seen you displaying at Waddo & Fairford that year. I'm always impressed with helicopter display teams. Thanks for the entertainment! As an aside, I saw the team walking their display at Fairford today. First time I've seen this done and looks funny as they simulate pull-ups/rolls. Hadn't realised they now had a female driver in the team!

The Aerospace is a very safe buy as the fakes really do look like fakes!

Great story - and congrats on the first Breitling (and the upcoming addition to the family).

Good story, thanks for sharing. So rough that you didn't buy the Ling the first time around!

Was there anything custom about the Lings that you were loaned for the season?

Oh, I didn't realy think that I would bother putting photos up as it wasn't new or that rare to be honest. But I do have a querey about the bracelet, so I shall throw a couple up to help.
As for the Blue Eagle Aerospace, it came with the blue face and Blue Eagles logo and name on it, I had number 5 of 15! Oh well, live and learn.
Heaven forbid, I believe the team are now wearing Oris

 I think they look gopping, but each to their own.
