Here's a lume pic for all you lume-lovers! :D I couldn't get any closer as my camera (i.e. camera-phone!) doesn't focus too well in low light conditions. :?

Image

It's as good as any lume I've seen this side of Seiko with their Lumibrite compound. Unfotunately I don't have an Omega anymore to compare it against. But either way it's still damn good lume! :D

Judging from the picture, it looks like it might be comparable to my PO. :)

That is strong lume indeed...

Congratulations D8 - I like it!

I first heard of Doxa when reading books from one of my favourite authors, Clive Cussler and one of his main characters the infamous Dirk Pitt (easy reading but entertaining with plenty of adventure). I immediately signed up for their online catalogues and have maintained an interest ever since.

I like the fact that Doxa make true Diving watches - hopefully you get the chance to take it for a dive one of these days!

Beautiful pictures of a great watch. Well done!

Driver8,

I can appreciate everything about this watch except for the case design. There is something about the case extending past the bezel that I just dont like.

Otherwise...congrats on the new addition to your collection.

I'm a lover... and a confirmed Doxaholic for many years. They make great watches, totally unlike any other brand, and the quality is top notch. Doxa management has been known to make some blunders in the way they deal with their forum and information, but beyond that the watches speak for themselves. My Doxa T-Graph Pro is still one of my all-time favorite watches.

I've owned this watch in PVD and quickly flipped it as I'm not a pVD guy, but the lume on the 5000T is second to none. And the bracelet clasp (which I am partially responsible for pressuring Doxa to make) is also long overdue, and a feather in Doxa's cap.

Congrats D8, wear it well and get it wet once in a while.

Nice watch, congrats Driver!

Not a daily wearer for me, but I can see it as a utility/beater watch, a higher end version of my Oris Diver.

Wear it in health my friend.

I don't mean any disrespect but, my wife would like to have a word with you. So to make a story short., I was on CL and found a Doxa Sharkhunter, not a new watch by any means but, for $120.00 I could not pass it up. The SS band is the most comfortable one that I have ever worn. Once I get back home I will post sone pics. I plan on sending it to Doca for a referb, but I love it as it is

That IS a bargain. Even with another zero on the end it would've been as well!

Well, as great as the Doxa is in terms of it's build and abilities, and as much as I am a huge fan of the looks, IT'S HISTORY!

Basically it just didn't fit under my shirt sleeve (and I wanted it as an everyday type of watch), and the design of the case makes it very top heavy on the wrist compared to something like an SA which curves around the wrist at the lugs.

Doxa wouldn't take it back as the statutory 10 days had passed, but fortunately I managed to sell it on to someone who, bizarrely enough, is now looking to sell it on themselves for the exact same reason I did!

Anyway, much as it pains me to do it because I think they look as cool as hell, the Doxa's history! BUT it's replacement its already here and just awaiting the attentions of my trusty camera phone! :D I'm MUCH happier with this new piece and pictures will be forthcoming in a day or so.

(And no, it's not a Breitling!)

That's a shame D8 but completely understandable. If you can't wear the thing...very good work too with the quick sale from the sounds of it. Funny how the purchasor also has the same problem; design fault maybe

Curious as to your replacement...
