If you use the search function there are a lot of discussions on both those questions.

The b01 has been pretty tightly priced. I got one for my brother around 15%off and that's the best deal I've seen on a b01. Alot of people think breitling is going to raise the price on them after the initial launch is over.

 Jeez. I'd be surprised if they sell many if that happens. I really don't see it as an "instant classic" myself......

I've been offered one at my regular discount.

Still not remotely interested.

This will come down to whether people feel the in-house movement is worth ponying up for. Submariner, GMT-IIC and really even the SDDS and Daytona are priced either at or (far)below the level of the B01, so if you're looking for the cache of in-house you could argue these models are more compelling.

Perhaps this won't be settled until the B01 and other models with the Breitling movement have been allowed to circulate for a while and establish resale history. If they hold their value a la Rolex, then sales should improve steadily. But we're talking at least several years down the road, and in the meantime I think sales are going to be far less than the folks at Breilting would have otherwise thought.

Also, the economic climate is going to knock a lot of customers out of the market that had previously fancied themselves collectors-no, wait that's too charitable-accumulators of high end timepieces. Arguably, at least a portion of projected B01 sales would have gone to this customer segment perhaps as 'trade ups' from entry level Lings. If these customers are gone forever that will leave Breitling competing with other brands for 'core' buyers and it's debatable whether those purchasers will switch brand loyalty..

Both the AD's who have them in stock here have sold all theyhad and are having trouble getting them in, and i dont know what your " regular discount is" but if you can get 30% off, i'll pay you $500 to handle the transaction for me, but i know you cant, not on these. the margin isnt the same for every model, it just isnt

Actually FEAR, you don't know anything about what I can and can't get and I resent the suggestion that I am a liar.

Oh and by the way, you won't pay me anything for two reasons - first, I have too much integrity to charge for referrals / helping people out and second, I'm not remotely interested in helping someone who implies that I am a liar.

Wow... Not cool.

... and I can personally verify the B-01's are available for purchase, sitting in the dealer's case.

I don't think the discount on these from my AD is any different that any of the other models. Last I heard, they sold a few but had like 8 in stock.

I got a quote from TOURNEAU and the discount is not pretty at all. not even worth considering buying from them.
Hongkong's AD offered 25% off but their MSRP is little higher than U.S. hongkong's stainless steel model with steel bracelet is about 8645 USD MSRP.

.

The daytona is the only one that I can see as being comparable as its the only chrono of the bunch...and if my memory serves me right, it retails for over $10,000.

...which would leave you with like a 23% discount...
