same as what roff said (sorry that sound licky) but i have yet to part with one i have bought, normally spend ages trying them on over a period of months sometimes until im sure then buy and keep.

only mild exception was my fighters as i bought it second hand and couldnt find one in operson to see, so bought it and loved the watch hated the condition it was in, sent it to BUK and had every intention after the issues i had to flog it as id worn it once in 12 months.

came back looking like new, now not only a keeper but an equal fav to the others.

tried a BB and had the same reaction as GStar i love it and have to have a brushed one, one of the best watches in the line up imo.

Yep, I love my Blackbird and haven't seen another Breitling which looks as good to me. Beauty is all in the eye of the beer-holder, isn't it? Personally, my brain ejaculates all over the inside of my face whenever I look at my wrist to check the time. But the point of the OP was really to highlight the difference between studio shots and how the watch looks in real life. Most of Breitling's promotional photos are against a black background; this makes the watches looks shinier and richer. I tend to find that images of watches with white backgrounds are a better representation of how a watch will look in real life. But at the end of the day, those online images and pictures of John Travolta standing in the dark in the Daliy Telegraph are there to generate interest and they do that job well.

Has anyone ever noticed that almost all catalogue images have the times set at 1:50? I wonder who decided that's how they look best.

Happens all the time for me. Especially anything pvd or black. Great in pics, but does nothing for me in the real world. I usually need a week to really decide. Like recently I had a speedmaster Moonwatch and decided within minutes to sell it. Sold it. Regretted it, and bought another. It is now one of my favorite watches. Bought an Evo in grey dial, got it and just never felt the love. Gone. SOHC in bronze, pics never really excited me, but got an opportunity to grab one at a great price... blew me away in person.

The moral, if you buy from the internet, be prepared to be disappointed or blown away, you just never know. The good thing is there is always the sales corner to help fix your mistakes. :D

Virtually all official photos are taken at 10:10 because the hands will usually frame the brand logo. It's also thought that hands in this position represent a smile so 10:10 replaced 8:20 which used to be the norm.

As for day/date, Breitling is always Sunday/12th whereas Rolex is Monday/28th. Weekend watch vs working watch?

I've never been disappointed with the styling or appearance, aside from wishing things had maybe been polished a bit more. Rather, I happen to have skinny wrists and therefore cannot wear SA, AS nor most of the Bentley line aside from Mark IV which I do not particularly like.

Keep waiting for Breitling to come out with a 44MM Bentley....apparently in vain.

Yes, and its a beaut!

On a side note, I saw a Rolex deep sea is person and hated it. I though based on specs that it would be a Rollie that id like, but it just looked really weird...and the skinny little bracelet :?

Had my heart set on a GMT, but the 49MM case width swallowed my wrist completely. AD said if they took the requisite number of links out it would look terrible that the watch was not for me, which after looking in a few mirrors I wholeheartedly agreed with him.

I like the Motors as well but that is a whopping 48MM and also too large.
