Right iv just come into some money, and im going to treat myself,iv got the choice down to a Bentley 6.75,(black face, black leather deployant),Blancpain 50 fathoms,or a Pam 243.
Cons to me of each watch...
Bentley......Got to be the most faked watch ever!
Blancpain...Price...!!!
Pam 243....Iv already had one..

I would apprieciate any other ideas, min of 45mm.....

Wouldn't worry too much about the fakes out there. Obviously if you go through official channels, you'll not have a problem with authenticity.

There are fakes of almost every watch out there, some not convincing, some very good. You'll know yours is genuine and get a lot of pleasure from it and enthusiasts like yourself will spot a real one.

If you can afford it, buy it and enjoy it :lingsrock:

Personally I'd say go for the Blancpain out of those. It's a definite step up in terms of movement (5 day in-house), and if the cost is the "only" off-putting reason, it might be worth saving up for a little bit longer.

Having said that, I really do love the Bentley models - I've owned 4 in the past (2 Motors, a 6.75 and a Le Mans), and I'm down to 2 now - Motors and 6.75 - so I can assure you that they are fantastic pieces.

Go the Bentley - even the so called "good fakes" are easy to spot for people who have a real one. Besides, making a decision on a watch based on the number of fakes would rule out lots of great watches.

I can't really agree with Driver 8's comment about the Blancpain movement - Breitling movements, perhaps more so the Bentlies, are such refined, reliable and sturdy beasts that it doesn't seem right to view their lack of true "in-house" status as being an issue.

Collectively, amoungst all the companies which incorporate ETA ebauches, there must have been at least two orders of magnitude more R&D spent over the years on the refinement of such movements than anything Blancpain (as great as they are) has come up with.

While it wouldn't be my personal choice, I would go with the Blancpain out of the three,

It's the clear standout in terms of quality and uniqueness as far as I'm concerned.
