So, I stopped into the AD to show them the clasp issue on my SOH 46 with the Ocean Racer bracelet. They said they'll send it back to Breitling, and I'll be without my watch for about 4-6 weeks.
So, any suggestions?
Since it loses about 5 seconds/day, should I ask to have Breitling regulate it, too? Or, does the AD do that?
Since the watch was purchased Aug '08, should I expect to pay anything? Do they pay all shipping?

I'm always for sending the watch back to Breitling any time there is an issue and under warranty. It will come back cleaner, shinier and if there are any issues they will fix them. Tell them it's losing 8 seconds per day...

I agree on sending it back and telling them it's losing more time than it is. My experience is that they will always time the watch when fully wound. It can be regulated spot on at a full wind, but on wrist, they will generally lose a couple of seconds more per day. I prefer my autos to run fast rather than slow as it's much easier to get them back to correct time by briefly hacking them vs resetting the minutes.

Well, my watch is on its way back to Breitling. The AD wrote down the strap loosening issue, as well as the watch running slow.
I'm really curious as how they're going to address this problem, because it really appears to be an inherent design flaw with the Ocean Racer clasps for the SOH 46. Unless manufacturing differences result in only a certain percentage of these straps exhibiting this loosening problem? I wonder.
Anyway, I'll post the results; hopefully in only a few weeks.

Curious what they come up with for a solution, my guess is they will just replace it. I have the ocean racer on my Avenger Seawolf and have never experienced this problem. Maybe it is an issue affecting a limited number of clasps. I have had two OR clasps and neither have loosened on their own as described.

So, I got my SOH 46 back from Breitling. There was no charge for "repairs"; I guess being that it's slightly less than one year old.
It appears like they slightly machined the PUSH button on the Ocean Racer clasp, and now it hasn't loosened while wearing it. I can still get the clasp to loosen (i.e. skip teeth) by doing the "pull test" when the watch is off my wrist, but it appears more difficult for this to happen. So, I guess I'm satisfied...........for now.
They also claimed to have regulated it, being that it was loseing 5-ish seconds/day. Although, now, it appears to be gaining around 6 seconds/day. Oh well.
They did do a really nice job in polishing the clasp............it had gotten quite buffer-scratched. Unfortunately, I expect it will get scratched-up again.
It's nice to have it back. Sure beats the Bulova that I was wearing in the mean time.

Nice to have it back isn't it? Now you need to get another one so you'll never suffer through that pain again.
