Hello all,
Just got back from my Cairns road trip (I will post pics very very soon).
Anyhow.... on the way back I got a phone call from the Breitling service agent in Australia. I had posted my bracelet to them before I started my road trip to Cairns on the 25/5/09.
They rang me and said the bracelet was repaired for FREE and they would also provide 2 new spring bars for FREE!

I am absolutely amazed..... They also said they would OVERNIGHT the bracelet back to me at their cost....

OMG ! I am absolutely amazed. This is Rolls Royce service.... NO - IT IS BENTLEY SERVICE AT ITS BEST!

Whilst in Cairns I did spot a beautiful new Bentley out the front of the Louis Vuitton store.... so I snapped a few pics!

BREITLING IS THE BEST! I feel so ashamed for mentioning Bentley banger racing.... can you guys forgive me?

Its amazing to think all those cars are made not more than 40 mins drive from my house. And then they get shipped all the way around the world rather like Ferraris and Lambos and the good old RR,Funny really when you think about it.

The Factory is only half a mile from my house, A friend of mine is a test driver for them , He gets plenty of trips round the world but only very hot or freezing cold places.
Btw Archie it's nice to see pics without bags in them

Man Bentley is an ugly car. Looks like a cheap US vehicle. Can you say Ford I mean Bentley I mean GM.....you get the drift. Just awful. A vehicular version of the Emperor's new clothes.

Bentley has no US influence and their models especially the continental GT look stunning. Bentley I beleive were owned by Rolls Royce/Vickers for some time until they were sold to VW in 98 I think they are all still handmade in the UK. Most of their styling influence is Rolls which certainly isnt American if anything you could see some Audi, Lamba or VW syling concepts in their newer models, but their traditionals certainly not.

I beg to differ. Handmade or not, ugly is ugly. And of course Bentley would not admit to "US influence". Who would. Don't be a leming and fall for the hype. Bentley is way overpriced for the style. What would you doo with 200K? You can get the US buick sedan for 20K and have the same look. The same demograpic that drives a Bentley would also drive the crappy US Buick(i.e. over 65 with too much money and no taste). Like most I don't buy US goods as they are usually crap. Give me the German or Japanese stuff any day. I see that the other "British" vehicle of record the Jaguar was just sold by Ford to Tata of India. Bentley will likely follow suit. Handmade doesn't mean much now anyhow. The Germans learned this a long time ago with superior results. Can you say Porsche!

So free repairs on the bracelet Archie - great news.

You should keep your comments non-national, if that is a word. I find your comments about My Country offensive. Let's keep to watch talk or I can guarantee feelings will get hurt.

Archie, I look forward to some pics!!

Steelfish, you need to tone it down a little dude. You'll give us Canadians a bad name. You don't like the look of the Bentley, we get it, but the rest of your comments are a bit inflammatory. I happen to disagree with all your comments, which is surprising considering this is an Archie post.

Archie, thanks for not offending anyone and glad you had a good B'ling experience.

It's amazing how Archie allways seems to rattle the cage. Is he blessed with superhuman powers, is he the owner of a pandora-like soapbox ? :usa: :canada :brit

You're right. The free repair is the main topic. The car is secondary. Don't take my comments too seriously. I have a pretty thick skin and sometimes assume others do also. :poke:
