So I recently purchased an original navitimer, I've barely worn it, and the other day I was driving and in the sunlight I could see two white marks on the crystal from just the right angle...they aren't scratches, they look more like cloudy marks, or blemishes. it almost seems that they are just under the surface of the crystal, and not on the surface itself, as i have not bumped the watch into anything in the last two weeks of me having it. I attached pictures below...I took them under a fluorescent light, they are clearer in person and in sunlight, but it is pretty clear if you look carefully. what do you guys think these marks are? Do you think that breitling will replace the crystal if I send these pictures to them?

Thank you all for your help. Much appreciated

Welcome aboard.
That are drops of something on the AR.
You can wipe them with water and soft cloth.

I have tried wiping them off numerous times with a cloth, and also with water. They do not seem to be on the surface of the crystal

Hi! I have a similar "thing" on my Avenger. I think it´s residue from a small drop of water or oil or something on the backside of the crystal from service or something. Because to me it looks like it´s not on the surface.

I believe that those are only spots.
Put some spit on your finger tip and try to wipe it hard.
Spots on the AR could be very difficult to remove.

I only have one It´s about 0.5x0.5 mm´s so I don´t really get botherd by it. But I will definetly mention it when I send it in for next overhaul which will be pretty soon I think.

But if your´s is still under warranty I would take it back to the AD and explain the situation.

Best of luck.

Wetty

This happened to my BlackBird - I noticed it about a month after I bought it. I tried warm water and soap, spit, soft cloths, etc....and nothing seemed to work.

Then one day I noticed it was gone and I have no idea what got rid of it.

I know that didn't help you at all - but if you don't take it back to your AD, maybe it will go away on its own........?

I spoke to Breitling, and they said that I should have it sent in to be cleaned/repaired. I know what you are saying...I don't know if I should go ahead and do so or just ignore it. It is an expensive watch...I'm not sure though.

Do you think they would probably replace the crystal?

If so, will the watch run just as well? Does replacing the crystal in a watch affect its accuracy or anything in the long run?

If the problem is under the crystal they won't replace it, they'll just remove it, clean it and put it back.

The crystal has nothing to do with how well the watch runs.
