I have noticed that on my Chronomat Evo the second hand and minute hand are not in sync. When I set the watch the second hand will pass over the 60 second mark as the minute hand passes the minute marker. But as time passes on the minute hand tends to get out of sync and when the seconds hand passes over the 60 second mark, the minute hand is only half way between the minute marks. Is this common? Should I send it in for service? It's still under warranty.

There is no synch between minute and second on Breitlings - at least not until B01.

You can do it manually by pulling out the crown to stop the watch with the seconds at 0 and then adjusting the minute hand.

Okay, when i do it manually it does not stay. I guess my explanation was not very good. It seems like either the minute hand or the second hand moves faster than the other and after a few days there is like a 30 second difference between the two. This does not happen on my CSO (which has the same movement) or my AS. Thanks for your response roff.

I think its normal. There is a little bit of "slack" in the minute hand when you set it that eventually gets caught up.

My Chronomat's minute hand is dead on with the markers. Just play around with it a little. Because there is little slack in the minute hand it can be tricky to adjust sometimes..

When you "hack" it (set the time), first pull the crown out to position two (all the way out) stopping the second hand (9 o'clock subdial) when it reaches top dead center. Rotate the crown moving the hands forward just past the time you are going to "hack" and then reverse direction slowly (takes up the slack in the gear train) back to the exact minute mark you want. Do it gently so as to stop cleanly on the mark without injecting any slack in the setting. With practice you'll develop the proper touch. Push the crown back in as smoothly as possible without ANY rotation of the crown so the slack will remain out of the gear train. If the minute hand is dead center on the next minute marker when the second hand hits top dead center again you've done it perfectly. Monitor it for a few minutes and then check it again in about an hour. If all is well you should be darn close to sychnronized and it should remain that way until you set the time again. Hope this helps...

Or you can just put the minute hand 1/5 - 1/6 of minute ahead of dead center.
With some practice, it will catch right on.
