hi everyone.

I've got a problem, i bought my superocean about 2 months ago and the more i look at it, it looks like it gets smaller! :( Now when i bought it my jewler said that they have a trade in policy were i could trade it in for anouther model and they would would give me so much % for my watch.
What do you think is a good amount of money plus my watch if i would trade it in for a Avenger Seawolf.

I know im gonna lose but i dont wanna lose a crazy amount. :(

thanks

Definately sell the steelfish...do not trade it. There are alot of members on this forum that can recommend AD's that will offer discounts of 25-30% WITHOUT any trades. You'll be able to sell the steelfish without any problems and keep more money in your pocket.

You should decide what amount you think is fair, either in trade or straight sale. How much is it worth to you to change? Once you decide, you're probably better off trying sell it here it here first. You may even be able to get a trade for what you're looking for -- you never know.

When you do set an amount in your head, put yourself in the shoes of the buyer -- how much would you pay to buy this watch from someone else. If you were the dealer, and you knew you needed to resell that watch, how much would you offer in trade. I think that will help you set a realistic amount in your head so you're not disappointed.

It seems like used pieces are going for about 50% of retail on various sales fora. I would expect your dealer to give you similar or less. You should ask them though, you never know.

Is it the Supeocean or Superocen Steelfish? If it's the Superocean, then I can understand that you would find it small.
The Steelfish, on the other hand, is a bit bigger, as well as having a greater lug width (ie bracelet size, 22mm as opposed to 20mm on the regular Superocean).
What colour dial did you get? I have a black dial Seawolf, which although is a big watch, it is very comfortable to wear.
I would go with the advice of the others on this forum, that is sell the Superocean yourself.
Cheers,
Carl

Completely agree with Carl here. I have a grey dial on a bracelet and its still a very comfortable watch. In fact, with the exception of working out at the gym it doesnt come off my wrist.

Im with the others as well, post some pics and sell it here to fund your new purchase.

I'm kind of in the same boat. For a month or so, I was so looking forward to getting the Chronomat and now after a month of having it, I wonder if I made the right decision. Don't get me wrong, I like my Chronomat, just not sure I love it.

I bought my Steelfish about two weeks ago, probably at the same place as Scramble, and I believe it is the perfect size.

I bet you could sell it on this forum for a fair price and then get what you will absolutely love. I think that with a Breitling it should be something you love, if you don't then I am not sure if you have the right one.

I don't think of having the watch for a few months puts it in the used category unless you have some overwhelming dings, bangs and scrapes on it, but if you have a few little wear patterns then you should be able to get a good price for it. And if some one says something you still have a warranty, just simply go to the AD tell them you want it serviced they will send it to Breitling and get it polished for you, and it will look new again. Good Luck

It does happen. Although the graphite dial on yours is the nicest one in my opinion. That kind of happened with my Seawolf. Then I sold my other two Breitlings, and got a new Omega. As soon as I got the Omega, the Seawolf was right back up there! Maybe you just need to wear your Colt GMT for awhile, and put the Chronomat away for a bit. Which strap or bracelet do you have on it? Sometimes - if you can afford it - a change of strap or bracelet makes a difference.
Cheers,
Carl

My Chronomat is on the Pilot bracelet. I usually alternate each day and just don't feel like the Chronomat is what I was expecting for some reason. I don't know, I just feel that way. I'm going to give it awhile or so, and if I don't decide to keep it or trade it, I'll probably end up selling it.

Justin, you should ask George if he'll take it back, then you can buy a Navi World off of him instead.
