I started this topic as there was a discussion about a LV bag that someone bought that ended up being a 3 pound box of laundry soap. He has photos of the package sent, but is that enough to take to court, assuming he gets the cops interested?

I've started video taping the package, opening and details of the item. All while keeping the activity within the frame and never leaving. Is it enough? Who knows. So what other things can we do to protect ourselves from the ripoff artists?

A friend of mine bought some accessories for his motorcycle through eBay and PayPal, and received literally a box of rocks in return.

PayPal refused his request for refund, because the seller could prove receipt of ... something. The box, I guess. It was his word against the other guy.

I ran across this when I bought a fake Breitling on fleabay. It turned out OK in the end, but I was sweating it for a while, hoping that I wouldn't have to go to court. One would hope that PayPal and your credit card company could help with these kind of things, but that's not always the case.

You can always get conned but I tend to go with instinct and you get a feel for the good guys and the bad ones,Its not perfect and I have got it wrong in the past and may do again in the future but I guess instinct is where it starts
