Thanks for all the replies. I think I'll get an OM at some point but right now I seem to have narrowed it down to the Mudman GW-9010-1ER (thanks to Ian for pointing me in this direction) or the Gulfman GW-9100-1ER whereby the Mudman is on top right now. However, I cannot get hold of one for a good price. Sold out almost everywhere except for some at ridiculous prices.

Glad to help, though not solar or atomic, I have this mudman

A great version and really clear display and a heck of a lot cheaper than the new model!

I was looking at the older model yesterday and am tempted to get it, I also like the design slightly more than that of the new one. How is the battery life?

The solar atomic features of the new Mudman and Gulfman are tempting compared to using a battery operated watch.

+1 for mudman!

i use to well a Timex ironman but i crashed and the strap broke.

the mudman's strap look a hell lot more secure so that's that!

If you want an olive green mudman, it can be had for a rather good price, PM me for details.

cheers

I have not had mine long enough to say about battery life though that is dependent on how much you use the light (BTW it has a wonderful feature that when you move your wrist to look at the time it has a sensor so that if it is dark the light will automatically come on!)
I also have a solar and atomic G shock, a 25th anniversary model and I love the way the display is more gold in colour on that one but it is a more classic g shock shape.
The mudman is stunning and I much prefer the older style to the new style. BTW the olive green one the other poster is on about is, to use a quaint old British expression from the old country,"THE dog's Bollox!"
This is an image of the GW5525A-1

This one is my standard for all the others when it comes to accurate timekeeping as it is atomic! I love this watch!

One last thing, one of your fellow countrymen, Sjors, is the acknowleged king of Gshocks, he has a website dedicated to it, a great fellow, you might want ot get in touch with him for more info!

I like it. Has a classic look, the GW5525A-1.

I finally went for this one:

I like the old Mudman but the absence of the solar and atomic features made me decide against it.

Got a good deal on the Gulfman. Now I just need to wait if it is really going to be any good.

That is a great choice as well, I think you are going to be impressed with it's build quality and I know you are going to love the solar and atomic capabilities, the solar sensor is so powerful in these things, I have not exposed mine to much outdoor light for quite a while (the brielting has been occupying my wrist a great deal!) and yet it still has a full charge also I have found that mine finds the atomic signal even if it is not near a window, in fact even in a draw it will still sync!
Make sure you post photos here and on the Gshock forum, those guys are great over there!
