A bit of a rant, and want to see if I'm alone. So to start off my number one is when those little dust/dirt and clothing particles get in between the lugs and strap, drives me crazy, lol. Next would be hairline scratches it just annoys me to know that theyre there no matter how small. And lastly I would have to say watches on the right hand, obviously I know why the leftys wear it on the right wrist but like I said its peeves. Anyone else have any?

Just concerning AR'd glass:

When water/beer/liquid 'x' splashes on, and dries.
Then is particulary difficult to rub off with breath & shirt sleeve!

One Breitling one (similar to the OP) - threads caught between the rider tabs and the bezel on Windriders.

No others that really spring to mind - except pretentious idiots posing with their fakes of course

My wife, who is a RIGHTY, wears her watch on her right hand. Drives me crazy.

My other peeve (besides those same idiots that Roff pointed out) - when people (who know nothing about watches) see your Breitling and ask what kind of watch it is, then reply with some type of comment about Rolex.

This exact conversation just took place on Tuesday right after a meeting at work. I was wearing my Navi World:

"Man, I had trouble sitting across from you with that huge 'blingy' watch shining at me. Is that new?"
"Yeah, just got it a couple of weeks ago."
"What kind is it?"
"It's a Breitling."
"Those are pretty expensive, aren't they? Why didn't you just get a Rolex?"
(takes off Navi World and bludgeons co-worker)

SedateSix,
I'm right there with ya! I hate that but found the perfect cure. Compressed air in a can used for keyboards. It's also good for excess water between links and under rider tabs.

People who use (or perceive) their watch as a status symbol, whether real or fake.

My wife always misplacing her watch. A few days ago while looking for the remote I found her Tag under the couch cushions, her response was that she didn't know it was missing. Also as a lefty, I think wearing a chrono on my right wrist would be akward as the pushers would be hard to operate.

Yep this is a definite irritant for me too.

The only other things "watch-based" that irritate me are all AD based. For example, I hate it when the sales people in most ADs I've come across seem to have a pathological compulsion to constantly wind your automatic watch while they're handling it. I mean..... WHY?? I'll wind my own watch thanks!

Secondly I get really irriated that when I go and try a watch on I take mine off and lay it on it's side - basically to avoid scratches on the case-back from the clasp. (Yeah I know it's very anal, but hey I hate scratches!) Why then do so many AD's kind of "tip it over" or move it so that it's on it's back......... clasp rubbing against the case-back!?!?!?

Thirdly it irritates me beyond words when sales people don't treat your watch with care. For example, my first Navi World ended up with scratches on the lugs when an AD removed the strap once in store. He basically did more damage in 10 seconds that I had in 10 MONTHS of ownership!

This often seems to be quite common unfortunately, as I remember reading on here once that one guy's AD kind of spun his watch round his finger like a rubber band or something!?!? I'd have probably slapped him at that point.

Have a little respect for people's property.

That one bugs me as well, certain sweaters I wear always seem to snag on the rider tabs and they are a bugger to get off, which is a pain to someone like me who suffers acute OCD

I'm a lefty and wear my watch on my left hand. Nothing drives me crazy like seeing a watch on the right hand...was about to seek help thinking that I was the only one.

Other than that I'm pretty easy going. oh yes one more, seeing people in formal wear or suits and wearing a plastic watch. I know I know to each his own but it drives me nuts.

My apologies to anyone who does this but the one watch etiquette faux pas that drives me crazy is when people wear their watch face down on the palm side of the arm as opposed to the "normal" way of on the back of the hand side. In other words with your palms flat down on a table the face of the watch is on the table.

Drives me crazy. There should be a law against it. :D

:yeahthat I mean really, why don't people wear a watch correctly; on their left hand and with the back on the hand side?

My watch peeves are:
1.) Any scratches on the front, sides, or back.

2.) Non-watch people and Rolex. I personally like Rolex, and I think they have good watch designs, but I hate people who only know Rolex. I don't know, its very hard to explain. I was just on a Rolex forum the other day and there was this one guy who said "I have a problem. If I don't wear my rolex for two or three days, it stops working." Basically, I hate stupid watch people. Sorry for my poor wording.

3.) AD's not treating your watch with respect. Pretty self-explanatory.

i am a pretty easy going person but my wife has this habit of not taking care of her watches. she doesnt care if its face down or face up, what she puts it down on and even if she wears it at all. i guess if i didnt buy all of them for her i prob wouldnt care as much, but she picks on me for taking such good care of mine. i guess she gets target brand watches from now on.
