On my warranty certificate the ref for model number is written wrong, it say's A17880 instead of A17360, though the serial number is correct, will this void my warranty as their is still a year left?
Also the warranty certificate number that is punched into the page, does that in anyway correspond to my watch and should it match with the cosc certificate?
cheers all

A17880 is not a good number. The third number should be either a 0 or 3. A17380 references to a Colt Auto ll.
Is your watch a Steelfish? Did you buy it from an AD?

17880 does not seem to be a correct reference number but i just found out if you send your watch BUSA they will authenticate it for free and stamp your booklet for warranty reference.

I know I am posting to my own post but I got to thinking. A17360 is the reference # for a Steelfish. I thought you had a SO Professional. If you do, then I think the reference number , if I am not wrong should be A17045 or A17345.

Well the watch is clearly SO and not Colt Auto ll as the incorect reference number would suggest (even though the reference number is no good for any watch) Fortunately they have recorded the serial number correctly because it matches the cosc certificate. Breitling can check the SN and authenticate the watch even without the paperwork so I think you are ok as far as warranty service.
I would however be concerned about the error on the paperwork if you ever wanted to sell the watch. A potential buyer would think that you probably weren't on the up and up. I would take it back to the AD and ask them to fix it. I don't know if that means ordering a new certificate or what but I would definately want that fixed.

As far as the punched number on the certificate matching the cosc I am not sure. I can let you know when I get home in a few minutes. I will check mine. Or someone else may know the answer before then.

Ok, no the cosc certificate and the warranty punched numbers do not match. As far as it corresopnding in any way to your watch I am sure there is a way that Breitlinhg has of matching it up but there is no number on the watch that corresponds to it.

When I say they don't match I mean they are not supposed to match. Mine don't and I checked three different watches.

If it isnt too much trouble I would head right back to the dealer and let them address it.

Had a reply from Breitling uk which is a good bit of news at least. :lingsrock:

Thank you for taking the time to contact us and I am sorry to hear that Ernest Jones haven’t filled out your Warranty correctly. I can see that they have misread the Model number from the back of the watch (A17880 instead of A17380). However as we don’t have a model A17880, if the watch were to come into us for repair, we would realise their mistake and honour the warranty.

I understand that it is not easy for you to return to Manchester, however if you contact them regarding this they may be able to post you a replacement warranty. Unfortunately we are unable to issue a new warranty for you here.

I hope the above information has rendered you a service however if I can be of any further assistance please do not hesitate to contact me.

Kindest regards
