After 2 years of searching I finally found a Hercules with black dial.
Received it yesterday and noticed the sub dials are also black!
Until now I only found the black with white sub dials, must say I like this much better :lol:

You're right about those black sub-dials. I don't think I've seen one like that before either. I don't have my Chronologs to hand until later today, so I can't check (and it has been a while since I checked out the Herc), but I certainly don't remember seeing one with black subdials. Very nice!

Although I bought it "as new" from an AD with two years Breitling warranty I phoned Breitling in Grentchen for additional info on the watch. The serial number corresponds with the version, including black subdials, and the watch was produced in 2001. Will send it to Breitling for a service under warranty to check the seals etc.

I wasn't suggesting there was a problem with it at all - I was just saying that I didn't remember seeing one like it before. It's a lovely looking piece and could be quite rare. :thumbsup:

Congrats Pedro, The Herc lives on ! I haven't seen this particular dial before...NICE...DIFFERENT....UNIQUE.... ENJOY... Its an attention getter all right...

That's a beautiful piece there...You know when I was looking for the Herc, I came across another photo of a black on black and assumed it was a fake..I too have only seen the black with silver subs...I thought they had only produced them from 2002-2006...I wonder if this was a first run or something..
Very nice! Looks like a big brother to the new Blackbird without the date.

Received my watch back today from Breitling HQ after a free maintenance. Asked for additional information on this version but only received the information that my watch was made 14 OCT 2002. They were not able (willing) to inform me how many watches were produced with the black sub dials. "It is not a limited version so we do not know how many are made"

I like the look of the dials, makes it look a bit meaner than mine (white subs on black).

One thing I'm not so keen on is that the bracelet and the bits of the main part that connect to the bracelet (excuse my ignorance) look a bit thinner than mine and also mine is all brushed and not polished as in the pictures - I think I prefer mine (I would say that).

Enjoy it though, enjoy the sheer size and weight of the thing, it's fantastic :)
