It does't look THAT bad however I do prefer the current update diver pro1. As of last year, diver pro 1 was thickened, and does not taper as much as the previous one. Hopefully the new one will look better in person that it does in pics!

I think that just happens to be a rotten photo. Can't imagine that the new strap would look that bad. It looks like maybe they have smoothed it out, where all the grooves were with the Breitling text. I think maybe they are trying to make it look more like a leather strap, kind of like Omega does. I think their Planet Ocean ones have a rubber strap with some stitching, that actually looks like leather.
Hopefully, they will keep the Diver Pro as well.
All they would really have to do with the Diver Pro to be able to put on a deployment, is to not punch the holes. Then the rubber could be cut down.

I agree with you Carl, the best strap would indeed be the current diver pro adapted to work with current ocean racer deployment.
