Well, guys, normally a Breitling only guy, I have been straying a bit lately, and keeping an eye on a couple of other brands out there - mainly Panerai, Ocean7 and also Citizen.
I am absolutely blown away by the Panerai line, especially the PAM210, Radiomir Basic with just hours and minutes. However, that price range is totally out for me until at least a year from now.
So...I keep looking at OCEAN7. It has a great price point, and from what I hear a great quality as well. I love the simple good looks of their designs. At one point I had my eye on the Colt GMT, but the Steelfish won out. Now I have seen the
Ocean7 line, and been looking at it for some time. The LM3 and LM6 looks great, but the LM6 GMT really does the trick for me. Plus it has the GMT movement.
I know Admin got an Ocean7 very recently. How do you feel about the service?
Although I plan to order one fairly soon, I would like to get a bit of feedback with anyone on this forum who has experience with any of their models.

About a month ago I obtained a second-hand Ocean7 LM-2C. I really like the watch. I have not had it in for service.

The Ocean7 straps are great too. I have a black PloProf rubber strap, and a leather (black with orange stitching) PloProf-style strap for it, and both are quite comfortable.

If it helps, I also have a 42mm Steelfish SuperOcean and a Rolex DateJust, among others.

As I currently live near a beach, I find myself wearing either the Breitling or the Ocean7 the most. The Ocean7 is a large watch, but wears very well. The LM-2C is surprisingly light, likely due to the Ti construction.

FYI- the warranty is not transferable.

Thanks for the feedback. Since I posted this, I have done a lot more research on the Ocean7. I can barely find a rare complaint about any aspect of either the watch or the service.
The only downside for me, is the fact that I doh't actually have anywhere to take it to be service, ie no local AD. So far, I have had very little problem with my Breitlings, but when something comes up, I just take it to my AD, and there is no hassle at all. I have no problem making a purchase on the internet, but if I do have to send the watch back, it is not only by post or courier service, it is also between Canada and USA, so there could be Customs involved also. It does save money to not have the middle man to deal with, just direct with the manufacturer. To me, however, the convenience of having an AD almost outweighs the money I would save.
The unfortunate thing is, that I like the Ocean7 watches so much (my big love is the LM6/LM6-gmt), and I simply can't buy anywhere else. I have looked at literally every watch available here from the shops, and there is nothing that even comes close to one of those, at any price. I think that eventually, I will take the risk and get one anyway, I like them so much.

I have two Ocean7's the LM-1LE and LM-2 and love both of them. My daughter dropped the LM-2 on a marble floor while on vacation last years. Stopped it dead in its track. Instead of sending it back to Ocean7 I dropped it off at a local watchmaker who was able to get it going again. The watch is running as new.

Ahh... the only problem he had was getting the case open he didnt have a tool large enough but ended up building something.

There are actually a LOT of complaints about Mitch's business "ethic" and it is somewhat well-known that he deleted a bunch of threads from the Ocean7 forum regarding problems with the service.

The problems with the servicing of the watches does not come from first-time customers, but rather mostly second-hand buyers. There were some mistakes with the LM-7, namely the 58-click bezel as opposed to it being 60-clicks. This was a mistake on O7's part, and they promised free replacements for all owners.. but this only applied to the original owner.. you would not get the free replacement of what was thought to be a defect if you purchased it from the original owner. This caused a stir.. and was quickly shushed. Many people will not buy from O7 for these reasons, and consider Mitch an unforgiving person to work with. This goes beyond the LM-7 bezel and before it as well... I can't even remember what it all was, but a lot of people out there won't touch O7 with a 10-foot pole.

At any rate, I like my O7.

I've been on the forum for awhile (albeit not lately) and have not heard or seen anything like this except for one occasion where a post was deleted for reason that I agree and believe any moderator would delete one for. The thread was completely rude and out of context. I've dealt with Mitch on a number of occasion and found him to be more than reasonable. Case in the point the situation with my LM-2 being dropped I explained to him what happened and he offered to repair it free of charge despite the fact the watch was out of warranty. I ended up getting it repair locally because the watchmaker said he had a good idea what the problem was and that it would cost me allot less that what it would have to have it sent down to the US, I recall something like $35.

Like Admin said, "I like my O7". I would certainly purchase another if and when the right model comes along.
