Hi Guys

Just some hints and tips required. I am selling my awesome CA and thought that it would sell no problem at around the £1,600 mark, it it in very good condition has the titanium bracelet and the white face.

I was happy to buy in the same condition (I bought it preowned) for £1,895 from a jeweler in my area last October so was confident that I would get a similar figure.

Am I asking for too much if so what should I be asking for this model?

Thanks

John

Can't really comment on UK prices, but it's a very different economy than it was even last October.

Since you bought it from a jeweler, you probably paid a bit more than if you had bought it privately. Couple with the current economic state as Roff mentioned..

Did you at least get any lower offers?

Five watchers but no bids

The economy over here is strange at the moment however there does seem to be cash flying around at the same time.

I will relist and see what happens

It would be good to know I am ot letting it go too cheaply especially as the AD will not drop there price so much.

Cheers

John

Have you listed in in the various sales fora? A lot of people dont bother with ebay any more and just cruise the watch sites.

agreed! I would post here before ebay! or do both! I think that sometimes you just need to give it a little time on here before going to the bay!

The second hand watch market is totally dead at the moment. I think people just have other priorities in the current economic climate. And the more expensive the watch is, the worse the problem becomes.

I can't give my Le Mans away at the moment...... and technically it should be a very desirable piece. (OK so I could probably GIVE It away, but you get the idea!)

My local Costco has a white dial Chrono Avenger, with tan calf, for around £1600 New.

I recently sold my CA with ProI for £1150 - so yes, you need to adjust your price.

I'm looking at a completely different part of the watch market right now as a buyer and the prices are ridiculous. Using a price guide from just a couple of months ago I am seeing pieces selling for 25 - 30% below guide for comparable conditions. The only pieces that seem to be holding up reasonably well are very high end and precious metals.

Thanks all and with that in mind I have listed for a much reduced price £1350 and will not let it go for less, I would rather keep it than let it go for less and let it stay on the winder.

Cheers all

John

A couple months ago, there was a mint white dial CA on the forums for weeks. If I remember correctly he started at $1800usd and kept dropping his price. I offered him $1450, and he declined, until a week later he contacted me and said he would accept my offer out of desperation to sell.

A year ago your watch was worth $1800-2000. In this market, you are likely looking at $1400-1600. Good luck with the sale.
