Here at last, here at last -- thank God Almighty, it's here at last!
To paraphrase the late Martin Luther King. But yes, it came today,
my IWC Ingenieur Automatic 3227, and what a sweet little watch it is.
I say "little" because at 42.5mm it's smaller than the pieces I've
had strapped to my wrist the last few years. But no shrinking violet
is it; it's as solid a timepiece as you could want, and I'm sure it would
fit into any situation -- social, sporting, diving, whatever -- and I plan
to put it through its paces in those endeavors and others as well.

One problem, though: the bracelet, as I predicted, is way to small. I
think I'm going to follow Driver's suggestion and order a couple links
for the band, probably next month. I couldn't stand to wait six months
losing weight while the watch just sits here on my desk saying "Wear me,
wear me!"

I hope next week sometime to get a few pix sent off -- of the Inge, as well
as the rest of my motley group.
