Rac1000, That´s been a very popular question all over. Trouble is, nobody seems to have the answer so far.

yeah, i like it too. Not as a replacement for my current Chronomat, because it's so different IMO. But as a new addition, it looks pretty killer to me. I'll smash a polished Blackbird bezel onto it if it fits, then ill have rider tabs... the new bezel is the only thing i need to get used to... that lume dome marking 0/60 looks a little bulbous to me...

Given that the new model is called a Chronomat it has to imply that the previous generation is now discontinued. They'll still be available at ADs for a while, but they won't be producing any more.

I don't have that as an 'official' statement, but don't see how it can possibly be anything else.

You might be correct. The only reason why I might have thought otherwise is because the new model is called the "Chronomat B01" not just "Chronomat". I guess we'll find out soon enough ...

Edit:

Also, in the press release for the Chronomat B01, it says "Breitling has created a highly exclusive version of its leading Chronomat model" Who knows? ... :)

Just read that an AD heard from Breitling that they would continue both Chronomat models for some time.

It seems like they refer to it as "Chronomat B01" and not just "Chronomat." Maybe thats the difference?

I heard the price for the new Chronomat B01 is 5700 € (± 7500 US $)

And the "old" Chronomat Evo will be sold in parallel to the new B01.

Looks like the new watch could be close to 10K canadian.

That's good news for sure!

The price is about what I expected, there was always going to be a premium for in house.

How long does it take a new model like B01 to reach the local AD? Any precedent to reference?

That's certainly not as bad as some in-house movements out there, and my next Breitling (if there ever is one! ) will definitely have an in-house movement.

However, due to the B01 similarity it the B23, and the fact I'm not keen on the new Chronomat, I'm not going to be rushing out to buy one.

Hopefully it won't be too long before the B01 finds it's way into a case I do like.

Normal introductions will be available by late May or June, at least in limited quantities. Not sure if the same applies here with the in house movement or whether that will extend timelines.

Thank you. I'll be interested to hear what everyone thinks once they experience the new pieces first hand.
