Its a great watch but only in TT (or all gold). :lingsrock:
There is no need to buy a SS Chronomat; many better watches out there in SS...
The 43.5mm size is spot on for a dressy watch (special occasions ONLY) sure beats the 36mm Rolex DJ or 39mm Pateks
IMO, 46mm X 17.5mm (H) is way tooooo large for a dressy watch.....
In the near future, EVERYONE on this forum will warm up to the redesigned Chronomat...It happens all the time with any new model;
many hate it in the beginning and eventually, everyone begins to like it....
Same thing happened with the Rolex DeapSea

For us with small wrists, it's a good size.

I'm not so sure about the bezel. No accurate markings.

The dial isn't doing anything for me right now. Don't like the big square cut out.

Good water resistance though (500m!)

I much prefer the older Chronomat/Evo. A true classic!

Nup.. it is terrible. Looks like a damn colt! (no offense to Colt owners of course).

Except for the fact that my Colt doesn't have that AWFUL bezel.

The font is horrible. It's the token font that they use to show the year at the bottom of the screen for sci-fi movies that take place in the future.

I'm sure people will warm to it to a certain extent : as you rightly said, it always happens with new models. However, from a personal standpoint, while I too have warmed slightly to some models that I initially didn't like, I've never warmed enough to buy one of them. The ones I buy tend to be instant loves.

As I said before, I'm reserving judgement on looks until I can handle one, but it wasn't an instant "WOW" from me. But the size is the real killer for me because where Pannies wear bigger than their dimensions suggest, Breitlings always wear smaller.

I quite like it! Hopefully the square on the face will be optional, and if it is, I for one will certainly be lining up for one! I can see the controversy around the bezel, but I think it tones down the chronomat somewhat, moulds it into a sport-meets-class kinda watch. Any ideas what the retail will start at, considering it has the new B01 in it?

I think that Breitling should have chosen a more timeless design since this is a landmark watch introducing their first in-house movement.

When you look in your Chronolog 09 and see the different designs from the past 20, 30 or 40 years, you can see the ones that look like a classic, and the ones that dont. In 20 years, the Chronomat BO1 will not be a classic.

I like the new chronomat. I think the bezel will give the illusion of a bigger watch due to the big font. I also dig the square in the dial and how the subdials line up with it. It is a little more dressed down from the previous chronomat. But like most of you I think they could have gone a little bigger. :lingsrock:

I think the size is perfect.. as much as I like the bigger watches, I'm finding that the 40-44mm range is my favourite. As for the bezel, I don't love it from the photos, but its different.. i don't like the square pattern on the dial, but i like the quarter markings on the subdials. I think I will have to see it in person and on my wrist before I make a true judgement on it.

All in all not bad but I won’t go right out to buy one.
Good size for a Chronomat and nice dial and case design. I like the smooth rider tabs that will not latch onto loose fabric. However I really don't like the numerals on that bezel. Whoever the marketing person was that came up with that font needs a good flogging.

The date font is a decoy, to throw off the reps (I HOPE)... Rolex had done something
similar a few years back when they had first introduced the LV SUB (cant remember exactly,
but they did do something to screw over the reps)....

On another note, changing (or eliminating) the rider tabs (on a LING) is like Rolex getting rid of the magnified date....another rumor I am hearing as well....
