I would be very surprised if the b01 intro doesnt have a display back.

i would consider buying a chronomat with a DB

:yeahthat As would I. Very interested in acquiring a DB at some stage, the Cosmanaute stands out but they seem somewhat difficult to find.

Will try harder :D

Is it even possible to have a display back and a WR of at least 300M?

Absolutely! I've seen more than one genuine dive watch with a saphire crystal back. If the front can be saphire crystal and the watch can be rated to 300m or greater, then the back can be saphire crystal as well. It's all in the engineering!

Can't wait to see the finished product. Maybe I should have held out on pulling the trigger on my BCE!

Personally, I think having an in-house movement will take Breitling to where they really should be in the wider watch world. I think it's a good move from both a marketing and quality perspective.

I think the similarity or otherwise of the new 'Chronomat like' watch is going to depend a lot on whether it is a new model or a replacement. Let's face it, from a case standpoint 'Chronomat like' doesn't necessarily mean Chronomat - think Cockpit, Chrono Cockpit, etc - similar cases, different watches.

If the in house meovement is going to replace the Chronomat - which it may well do, then we'll likely only see some evolution of design. If it's going to be a distinct variant / model because of the popularity of the Chronomat at the current price point, then there is likely to be more freedom in design. I'd love to see that approach, but if the number of 50,000 B01s a year is true then I think that will have to mean model replacement - there'll be too much erosion of the existing model line sales otherwise.

I agree that the B01 gives Breitling the best excuse yet to put a DB on it, but that doesn't mean they will - it's not something that they have done much as we all know. I am sure that if they do put a DB on it then it will only be in LE format.
