@Aleister - awesome watch. Many many congratulations.
@HeadOffice - as some other members here know, Ian Blowers is based in my old home town and is a longstanding friend of my godfather. Ian's reputation is very good indeed - a proper old-school watch dealer and jeweller.
Cheers,
Nick
Swiftnick, great info, it is nice to know in this computer shopping age what pedigree a dealer has and this is about as high as it gets! He sounds like the jeweler, Harrisons of Dawlish, that I got my first Omega from.
I find living in Canada, and I think the same could be said for the U.S. that we don't have here as many of the old school family jewelers that are cornerstones of reliablity and community that the average town or city does in the UK so there could be more trepidation in purchasing from them from this side of the atlantic.
I think we have become so Big box chain store mentality here that we have bought into the biggest is the safest route (witness the folly and irony of that in this current economic climate!) I got my Breitling from a small (much like the family jewlers in the UK) respected watch store here and feel really safe in the purchase!)
Your information is very useful, thank you!
