Anyone have any info on this? I know Ontario locations are having a insane sale on a lot of models such as Fortis and Oris, etc.. but Closing out? I've heard closing out sale and 50-70% off... but I'm actually more concerned/interested in hearing which one(s) are closing, the economy is affecting them big time it seems..

Confirmed. It is the Richmond, BC location ONLY. One guy claims to have purchased a Breitling at 50% off, but they stopped carrying Breitling at that location a while ago. I will go tomorrow to see. 50-70% off everything apparently.

Seems strange they would be selling at those prices, instead of just sending their stock to the Pacific Centre location. I remember last year, when Richmond stopped selling Breitling, there was so much inventory at Pacific Centre, in fact quite a few watches were duplicated. I can't afford to buy anything now, I am trying to put money aside for a Panerai. But I will be curious to hear about your visit there tomorrow.
Cheers,
Carl

From what I hear they are closing down the Richmond location for the same reason that they moved the Breitlings out last year - too much crime at the location, which in turn is impacting the store yield.

In terms of why not just move them to Pacific Centre (or anywhere else for that matter), I think that they are taking the opportunity to reduce inventory. Historically each La Swiss location has been able to control it's own inventory and there has been a historic tendency to maintain way too much. There was a new managaer put into Yorkdale Mall in Toronto last year because of this very issue - well over 200 Breitlings alone in the store inventory.

Grigoros are horrendously managed, the owner has no concept of how to run a business - if it were publicly controlled it would be a wonderful takeover target, and so they aren't well positioned for the current downturn and need to reduce overall inventory. Also consider that we are getting very close to the time of year when they have to order all of the new models and they are now in a position of needing cash more than profit.

Certainly interested in hearing of any specific deals - I know that there are still significant discounts available from La Swiss on Flying Bs, but presumably that won't apply here as Richmond doesn't have Breitling any more.

One of the many problems with Grigoros.

Unfortunately, it's privately controlled so nothing to do. Trust me, if it weren't I would be looking to find financial backers!

I never made it out, but initial reports from a friend state that there is 70% off Fortis. HOWEVER, and this is a big however... he says that somehow priced it at $9,990 so it pretty much nullifies any sort of deal. He has not replied to my text messages asking if any Breitlings are there or if anything else was a decent deal so i cannot provide any more info.

I am pretty certain there are no Breitling's at the Richmond location. I have visited the store a couple of times in the past year. They do have other watches, but nothing that I was interested in buying.

Might check it out next week, if they are still around.

I can only begin to imagine the improvements if that were the case  :lingsrock:

If the market cap was below book value, we could buy it out and keep all of the Breitlings in the inventory we want. Then we sell the rest of them at reduced prices to other BreitlingSource members, and sell off any other remaining assets. If done right, we could swing it so we net lot of good watches for free.

There were Breitlings at the La Swiss location today, but only Flying B's... looks like they moved some stock to the location to liquidate as the Flying B's aren't selling that well.

Doesn't surprise me - Grigoros are swimming in Flying Bs - available at very deep discounts from any La Swiss, and I know I can still get people ridiculous dicounts (PM me if you want a Flying B - but only a Flying B, not No. 3, not chrono).

My wife is going to stop by the store on her lunch break to check it out. More later.
