Have to agree with the majority, I prefer the brushed finish. It makes the watch stand out (even more) from the rest of the range.

well, i've had the polished version for about 10 days now and I love the look of it. i think the polished faceted pilot bracelet is really exceptional looking. the brushed finish just didn't do much for me. I'm new to the Breitling brand so this discussion that a blackbird "should" be brushed doesn't mean a whole hell of a lot to me. I had shopped for a couple weeks and had been leaning chronomat evo...then when i came across the polished blackbird, i knew i found the watch I wanted. you really have to go to an AD and check the look out. imo, as far as the blackbird goes, the internet pictures do not very well convey what the watches actually look like in person.

I prefer the brushed. I would love for this to be my next Breitling, but they are a little pricey at the moment. It has a very similar design the the CWS I briefly owned with the big D complication...now I would have probably kept the CWS if it were brushed...and it cost 1/2 of what the BB goes for. But it's also an older model.
Someday...I'll be lucky enough to snag a pre-loved brushed BB! Someday...

Polished. It's 316L SS and it needs to be polished IMHO... :)
Cheers,
Ron

While I think every other Breitling should be polished, I think the Blackbird should ALWAYS be brushed IMO.

It's always been a model inspired by the Blackbird spy-plane, so I think the watch should always be understated and more military-like that any other model.

Don't get me wrong, the polished version looks great, but it loses that quintessential "Blackbird-look" compared to the brushed version.

For once, D8, I think I disagree with you, at least slightly! :o

I'd say you have a point if there was something about the brushed version which resembled some aspect of the plane, but I can't see anything similar about the design at all. OK, it's not as flashy as the polished version, but it's a long way from being understated and military-like. Maybe I'm just showing my ignorance :D .

I have the brushed, but I would choose either one. You can't go wrong.
