IT HAPPENED TO ME AS WELL

I "scratched" my 1-month old SA Crystal.... I was piss*d off....big time.... Spoke to Breitling Canada;
they said it happens quite often and the AR coating is only some kind of spray :x

In my case, I believe it was my wife's diamond ring, when we were in bed.....that niked it....awww well
sh*t happens and the worst part is that its been at the service center for 3 weeks,,,,

Are you in Canada?

It IS a spray, but then it's baked at considerable temperature so it's not like a can of spray paint or something.

Unfortunately nothing is totally scratch-proof : you could scratch a diamond with another diamond for example. The AR coating is tough, but not as tough as the sapphire...... which (as we all know) is also not as tough as diamond.

they will be receiving it from Switzerland :(
