Excessive - take your SA and change the dial to a diamond-covered one, and replace the bezel with more diamonds...

Offensive - take your SA and put a rubber strap on it...

I disagree with excessive, I have a diamond bezel SA and when I purchased it i saw the same bezel like mine, but it also had side bezel diamonds, and I thought it looked tacky as hell. So I opted for the top diamond bezel only.

Yes, but then you don't have the diamond-covered dial too... You just said yourself that too many diamonds would be excessive.

What would you rather have?

A. SA with diamond covered dial and bezel (excessive)
B. SA with rubber strap (offensive)

Personally I would opt for the rubber strap

Im sorry but a man wearing an SA covered with diamonds is trying too hard, I would rather have a Chronomatic on orange rubber (shudder)

Answer, NEITHER !

Just get the damned Super Avenger on a steel bracelet and leave it alone. If you have to customize it at all the only acceptable modification is a diamond bezel as long as it has only 1 row of diamonds. Personally if I was going to do that I would get it custom made and get it lined with a single row of blue Sapphires instead of diamonds, but I'd rather just get an all gold Bentley and leave my SA a casual watch. You don't need to do anything to an SA, it's excessive and offensive enough as it is. And Rubber straps are not offensive they are just plain DEGRADED !

The SA Diamond bezels from Breiltling only come in the two-row configuration, don't they?

I've been thinking about getting some diamonds on the SA but I think that its a casual sport watch not need diamonds, and i like them on the Evo. I keep forgetting to take pics of my Motors on a Rubber strap!!!

Grey - my answer to that excellent question (poll, maybe?) is neither. I like my SA "as is", I don't need to be neither excessive nor offensive...

:P

While at the Breitling event on sat. another customer walked in with a white SA just like mine only he had it on a croc strap w/deployment. I had seen someone post that here before and I really did not like it in the photos, however in person it looked great! I would never say that without actually seeing it but it does look good. Kinda takes the SA from sport to dress...if you can do that with a watch this big.

Admin,

As long as it's done for the purpose of demonstrating what a DEGRADATION it is then it's fine. You don't want to be misguiding some of the younger Ling enthusiasts with such a display of Ling carnage !

Ok Im gonna say it. I love straps! That said, I LOVE bracelets even more! Although I don't think the SA is the best candidate for a strap it looked very good. I personally feel they are on an even plane. I look at both and see that they completely change the look and feel of any model. Why would you deny the ability to completely change the appearance of such a valuable and costly investment? I will either get a model on a strap next or buy a strap to change in and out as the mood strikes. Sorry Ling Man....I love em' both!!!
