i know these two watches have the same case, so the look isn't that much different...the Chrono Evolution is a bit "dressier" in my opinion. I read one of the blackbird posts and it seems to be about 50/50 (people who like brushed vs polished)...I was curious, what would you guys choose, a blackbird or Chrono? thanks.

I tryed both before going with the chronomat evo, Yes the case is the same but the dial is very different. I thought the chronomat had a 'less tool watch' look to it. Since I already have 'the' tool watch (B1) I decided to go the more dressy look.

Either way you will be getting an awsome breitling!

I love the Blackbird, but it would be the Chronomat for me (technically not Evolution any more) simply because I have a lot of black dials already.

As 61jaguar says, it depends a lot on whether you want a dressier look or not, and as always you need to try them on.

I would definitely go for the Blackbird, one of my favourites. Has a number of exclusive features, that the Chronomat does not. Now available all polished, could be dressier, too.
Definitely a true "Special Edition".
Cheers,
Carl

I would go for the brushed BlackBird...
the brushed finish shows off the faceted links better (in my opinion)
really love the big date too and the deep sub-dials
my buddy Aaron has one and I hear that the lume is outstanding!

My answer would be depending on the status of the rest of the collection. If there were no other watches, I'd probably prefer the Blackbird. But now, I have a few black dials and also a few big date complications, therefore I went with the Chronomat.

I prefer the dressy look of the Chronomat.
Polished or brushed that is the main question

Chronomat is polished only.

If I had to choose just 1 watch.... It would have to be the BB;
--its more rare
--Big Date
--3-6-9 sub dials (I really like this)
--bigger logo
--nicer bezel
