Hi,

Firstly hello to everyone.
I dont own a Breitling but hope one day that I will. Absolutely staggering engineering.

I am looking for a little help from anyone who may have a few minutes of their valuable time to spend please.

My father owns a EM Model # 236 - A7332211/C714 which he bought second hand a few months back.
The watch is 25 months old and he is looking to get it serviced.

He has signed and completed the necessary change of ownership forms and has asked me a few question which I thought I would ask on the forums.

When he bought the watch there were some signs of wear, small scratches from daily wear on the case and strap and I believe there is a small plastic seal around the antenna which is also missing (although the watch antenna has not been activated). The testing kit works fine and the watch has no problems at all.

My question is, when Breitling service the watch will they do their best to get rid of any marks/scratches and will they replace the plastic piece on the antenna (ive never seen this plastic piece and dont even know what it is, my dads friend has told him something about it though I think). From the video I see, watches come back like new but wondered if this is really what happens?

Also if anyone has had a free EM service (1st one) do they try to remove these marks/scratches or is it just on the paid for service?

Anyway, any help would be much appreciated, my dad keeps asking me if I have found anything out so thought it was time to post as Im hoping one day he'll give the watch to me :)

Thanks everyone, I did try to get some pics but he's paranoid someone will steal his identity if I post photos ha ha ha.

Any advice would be much appreciated :)

:welcome: Breitling does a great job restoring the watches back to 'almost' showroom condition before they send them back to you. The service is pretty involved.

I can't comment 100% on the plastic ring whether replacing that is free or not as I can't imagine it breaking by accident but I'm sure someone else can fill in the gaps...

Hi, yes Breitling will return it like new, with not scratches or marks.
Just got mine, back from the 1st service, about a month ago.
That little plastic tab, is the seal you have to break to release the antenna. I belived the will replace it.

Welcome to the forums jjmcay. Hope you enjoy your time here! Your watch will come back from the service as good as new, something to look forward to...hey that rhymes

It would also appear a welcome to racetek is in order.

Sent my EM in for it's first service at Christmas. Came back in 3 weeks like brand new. And what was even better....the First Service for the EM is free!

Excellent.

Good luck and best wishes,

Verner
