I have a Breitling Aviator from the 1980's, the stainless steel band needs to be replaced. It has a number stamped on it (821A) The distributor on the east coast has been no help neither the dealer in McAllen TX. I never thought Breitling would be so difficult to communicate with. The watch kepts perfect naval zooloo time, but the band is wearing out.

Can anyone help me out here.

Rich

The bracelet isn't made any more so you will need to try and find one on the secondary market, or more likely find an alternate bracelet with the right end links. I don't know off the top of my head which end links will fit, and I don't remember the bracelet size. Can you post pictures or at least a model number?

On the back is a number A57035 with an etched number of 34762, I take a picture and reply back in a few minutes. Thanks

For a discontinued bracelet I think you have to get lucky at either a service center or on ebay (or one of the other sites for used watches - but then I'll think you'll get the whole watch and not only the bracelet provided you find one). Another option is of course to exchange the bracelet for a leather strap.

OK, now I am confused.

A57035 is a Colt from the mid 90s. I think we really do need pictures to be able to figure out what bracelet you need (or what size strap will fit). If you can't attach pictures when posting, here are instructions for linking - viewtopic.php?f=5&t=453

Correct. It's 38 mm Quartz Colt.

Now that we have got past that introduction, I stand corrected-- it is a Colt. For some reason the Aviator was on my mind.

I don't see an attachment option on my page to add the picture as an attachment. I tried to copy and paste and that won't work.

Below the main text box for typing a message is a section with hte heading 'Upload attachment'. Failing that, use the ling I posted a few minutes ago for instructions on posting through a hosted account.

I think you should be able to order it through BUSA.
I ordered 820A (same but different brushed/polished combo) brand new from my AD, year ago.

Explain how I can order it from your site, who do I contact?

What do you know about sending it back to the factory for a cleaning and inspection?
Do you remember what you paid for your new band?

Thanks for all the help, I packaged my watch and will be sending in for inspection, basic service and repair the band. I think this is my best option at this time considering the value of the watch.

I ordered it through my AD in Zagreb, Croatia. You can order it through your AD or through BUSA if you are in US, or BUK if you are in the UK.
It's a Pro I so it costed 210€.
