Hey
Today I did get a new Superocean after few days wait. Living in Finland and bought it from a local AD. Why ocean, well I like it because it's simple, basic watch, personnally I don't need any extra functions. It's a blue faced with blue leather strap + steel bracelet extra. I have to say it's shiny little thing. Lurking and reading all info I found about Superocean/Breitling in here, so thanks to all.

Tervetuloa!
I love the SuperOcean. Had one for 11 years, and wore it every day.
That looks great with the blue dial, and blue leather strap.
Where in Finland are you? I lived there for 3 years, in the early 70's in Jyvaskyla. Still have good
friends there, and visited a couple of years ago. I worked for Finnair, then transferred to Amsterdam.
Anyway, that is anothe story. Meanwhile, enjoy your new watch, and also this forum which is a great
place to spend time.
Cheers,
Carl

In Oulu, Carl.

Just wondering, can I somehow soften little bit my leather strap, like with the leather grease or similar. Or do I wait and wear it and hopefully it will soften in time. Is it big NO NO to use any kind of substance to Breitling leather, will colour wear off or something?

The leather will soften (break-in) all by itself in a fairly short period of time. The standard leather breaks in much quicker than the croco.

Proper good quality leather care creams are fine to use, but only use them on the outer surface, and personally I wouldn't go using them straight away as they slightly alter the nice semi-matt finish. But as the strap ages, feel free to use some decent care cream to keep it in top condition.
