I found a nice looking used Navitimer (may be a late 90s montbrillant) at a local store. The dial reads 41 rubis but when I had the guy open it for me, the ETA 2892 movement read Breitling 38 jewels. Is this a fake or a mistake. what do you think guys? The dial is similar to this:

Hi, the picture doesn't show for me.

Oh and I've also deleted your identical post in the main forum as we try to avoid duplicate threads. This Help forum will do fine for this question. Thanks.

PS - Welcome aboard as well!

Pic is at - http://www.lesmala.net/jean-michel/navitimer/index2.htm

Click on Collectors, New Page 2, 5th row, 2nd picture.

It's a first generation Montbrillant with a Breitling 30, which I believe is 41 jewel (although I'm going from memory). The ETA2892 is a modular movement with different modules containing additional jewes so not all 2892 based movements have the smae jewel count.

That's even more confusing - it has the calibre 30 as a 40 jewel movement. I'll try digging deeper.
