Hi guys.
Although I now live in Alberta, Canada i still buy from my AD in Southport England as he gives me great deals and i save on the VAT. I just spoke to him about a 6.75 and he advised me to buy it now because Breitling are increasing there prices by 12.5% across the range on February 1st 2009. Sounds like a bold move in this ecconomy but i just though id share the info.

It certainly is a bold move! Even more so given that consumers are cutting back their spending on what is certainly perceived, by most people anyway, as a luxury item. Time will tell I suppose, and if it does happen then I'll be even more glad that I purchased my first Breitling a few weeks ago. The UK AD didnt mention anythng to me about any price increases as part of her sales pitch.

I answered this in the duplicate thread - viewtopic.php?f=1&t=7132

It's in the UK, in the smae way that has happened in Scandinavia, Australia, etc in response to recent currency fluctuations.

The global increase (if any) will be post Basel.

My timing is just right, then. I am just on my way to my AD to puchase a new Avenger Seawolf. I decided to jump on it now, because of rumors of the increase!
Cheers,
Carl

Hi Guys

I picked up my Navi World on Wednesday last from my AD in Lancaster, UK, pics coming soon, when time permits. Whilst my AD gave me a decent 20%, he did confirm the upcoming UK price rise, something to do with the GBP against the swiss franc. Yeah, sounds mad in the current economic downturn but I guess it's about relative currency values etc. He was very good to me so I ordered my yellow face ASW with brushed steel bracelet at today's prices AND 20% discount........can't let the world economy debacle get the better of you, eh ????? My AD's going to keep it in his safe for me until I can afford to pick it up in a month or two; what a grand chap.

I dont know the details, but it makes sense to me given the current exchange rate and canadian list prices.
