Well, as they say, good things come to those who wait. :lingsrock:

I waited long enough and decided to "pull the trigger" when it was obvious that Santa wasnt going to bring me Avenger Skyland, which was a watch when I saw it for the first time knew that I'd have to get one. I've been a lurker to this forum for a while before I signed up, and I'd like to thank all of the contributors for increasing my knowledge of both the Breitling brand and the Avenger Skyland timepiece.

Anyway, I shall begin.....(apologies for the crap pictures - not talented in this area!)

Looks like a pretty dull, regular box to me. :?

Does that say what I think it says?

Now, where have I saw that before? :o

Image

A truly glorious site. :)

The money shot!

The old battered TAG (which has been a great watch for me) next to its successor. 8)

Thanks for looking in folks.

Now, who knows the best place to get an OEM leather strap? :D

Two things I did get pissed off about when buying was that I never got the small yellow tag thing (don't know its official name) which goes round the strap, and nor did I get the bezel protector either.

I think I knew more about the watch than the salesgirl in the shop to be honest!

Beautiful choice! One of the best-looking, sexiest men's watches Breitling, or anyone else, makes. The black dial is awesome. One of the guys at my AD got one for himself with the grey dial, and has now changed it to the Black. It just looks great with the white stencilled numerals. The OR also looks great with it, as does the black leather strap with white stitching.
Cheers,
Carl

Do you know if they have catalogues with price lists available for customers? I will be passing by a selection of Breitling ADs when I'm in town tomorrow and wouldnt mind taking one away to consider my options.

I had a quick look online at one site selling OEM straps and am a little suprised by the price! I'm looking for just either black leather or black croc with the tang, and they are coming in at $375US and $495US respectively. God knows what I'll end up paying in a UK AD

Maybe I'll just go and browse the AD on my lonesome. My other half is a considerate woman, and usually has no problem with what I spend money on, but if she knew I paid somewhere between £300-500 for a strap she would go ballistic. C'est la vie I suppose

The OR might be an option but I still prefer the leather straps to be honest. I'll be wearing it daily and have already noticed a few small swirl marks where my cufflink was brushing against the clasp.

Will need to do a forum search to purchase some recommended cleaning products.

Great looking watch - congratulations.

In terms of straps, the price list has prices for calf / croc / tang / deployant, but no catalogue of colours - best place is to look on the Japanese fitting site - www.breitling.co.jp/fitting.

The prices aren't cheap, but the Breitling quality is second to none - you can always go calf if the croc is too expensive right now, but I would invest in the deployant clasp - far more comfortable than tang and the straps will last longer. You can always upgrade to croc down the road and keep the deployant.

Maximum markup... an aftermarket variant would cost a fraction of the price of the deployment buckle, or even the croc strap, but it won't be "real".

Actually, there's less markup on straps / bracelets / buckles than on watches.

The problem with deplyants is that they are realtively complex pieces of metal / mechanics (relative to a tang) and are produced in relatively small numbers making the unit costs more expensive. If you see a Breitling deployant side by side with an aftermarket the difference is very noticeable.

Additionally, the mechanism of a Breitling deployant is unusual in that it doesn't depend on a strap with holes unlike many others.
