....is rather tiny and light, compared to my SA.

I snapped some quick (and ugly) pics with my iPhone; I am at "work" after all.
These pics are only to compare sizes!
What was my DD doing at work? Well, I brought it in to show it to a co-worker, hoping to sell/trade it; he said NO WAY; been getting that quite often as of late.
People are into BIG watches now-a-days, and the DD just doesnt have the WOW thing any more!

I DISAGREE WITH YOU!

Infact I am searching for a 18238 President on the used market now! (PM me with a price for yours)

I currently have an old navitimer II (A13322) which I love.... however.... the PRESIDENT is the PRESIDENT.

I have a small collection of watches - Rolex DateJust TT with diamonds (16233), Omega Speedmaster Pro (man on the moon) and a Breitling Navitimer.

BUT ..... as a dress watch..... as a beautiful classic watch...... I WANT A PRESIDENT!

Do not be so fical.... the fashion trendy of dinner plate size watches will not last forever.... REMEMBER MISSION BROWN>?

The president is not small at 36mm and with a 20mm bracelet. It is the fact you are comparing it to a MONSTER. This crazy trend will not last.....

Watch makers love these changes as it KILLS THE VALUE IN THE SECONDARY MARKET! The DD II is bigger for no good reason......

DO NOT SELL THE PRESIDENT!

I too always wanted the PRESIDENT. Now that I have it...I dont really care too much about it...
I guess human beings are never 100% happy.... myself included

As far as a gorgeous dress watch goes, this is top on my list:

I agree Spartan, but I would probably go with a black dial.

If you wanted to part with your Rolex, you shouldn't have had your SA with you (or on you) - then of course the President will look small. ;)

nice write-up DRIVER 8.

It very simple: Once you start to wear the BIGGER Breitlings, you just cant go back to the Smaller watches
(do I hear DateJusts and DayDates).
I already got rid of my DJ and am also seriously thinking about unloading my President.
Maybe deep inside I really want to keep the PREZ ( this is perhaps the reason I am asking a high price for it)....

Anyways, the DJ was very small for my ~7.75" wrist.... its just my opinion.... :D :D

Well you can't, but I sure as hell can.

My 806s are no lesser watches just because my largest Breitling went from 47mm to 48.7mm this week. They don't look tiny on my wrist, any more than they did before.

As Driver8 said, it's personal choice - some of the most iconic watches Breitling have ever made have been 'small' by modern standards, but they are still amazing Breitlings.

day date, no wow factor, whaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaat!

Whilst I understand exactly what you mean, There is something that will always create a exponential curve or curioisty as far as the Rolex day Date goes, we've been lucky enough to have one in the captain_rossco family for some time now and whenever it comes out to play it causes a stir.
Old and boring or classic and original.?
The old addage "if it aint broke dont fix it" was made for Rolex's steadfastness when leaving this design alone for so many years.
I could never see the captain rossco family DD going walkabout, why? Because there'll be that rare occasion on which the company I am in have more a snippet of admiration for a gorgoeus, gorgeous understated classic like the Day Date.

That said, who could live without a Ling.......Not me.

God this is getting expensive.

Best Wishes

CR

i have both the president and the SA and the president's weight and size was a let down after the bulk of the SA. that being said, it is one of the 'ultimate' icons of the watch world and although it doesn't show you know a lot about watches, it shows that you don't mind spending a fortune on them. if weight is your qualm, may i suggest the platinum version which is far heavier.

p.s. i prefer the white dial/roman numerial combo of your president to my champagne dial one as the white gives the illusion of a bigger watch.

You know the Prez is a beautiful watch, and it would look great
on your wrist -- if you're a midget!! Stick with the Breitling.
