hi guys
first of all id like to say great forum, ive bin browsing discussions for about 2hrs now and its great to find like minded ppl who are willing to spend a few bob on a good watch! (most people hiss at the price wen i tell them :) )

Basically, ive wanted to get my hands on a ling for over a year now, looking in shop windows like a longing poor kid to a candy shop and just need advice from current owners!!

so, any advice..? the chrono superocean in black with ss stap// or the avenger skyland, again, black with ss strap....?

any info is much appreciated :D

Both are great watches, you have to go try them on see how they feel and fit on you. The right watch will pick you!
I personally love the AS

I too have a Skyland, but as MaC said - you need to try them on and see which one just feels right for you - the CSO is an amazing watch too.

Between the two I would have to say Skyland as well.

Welcome along. The Avenger Skyland seems to be a popular watch as of late, and just happened to be one of my choices too. I have the AS with a black dial on the SS ProII bracelet. It's always best to get the SS bracelet and then get an OEM calf or croco later to change things up. I also have the Diver Pro strap which doesn't get much use, but gives the watch a completely different look when needed.

The Chrono Superocean is also a great watch. You have some different dial / sub-dial combinations that are cool. The day / date feature is a bonus on this model as well. It's all personal preference and the best advice you can get is to try them both on. Whichever one you don't want to take off, that's the one.

I personally think the Skyland is about the best-looking guys' watch made by Breitling. Having said that, I have a Steelfish and a Skyland Blacksteel, and the Steelfish is the one I wear every day. I found the Skyland was just too bulky for me, especially wearing it to work every day. Even the Steelfish is a bit bigger and thicker than the chrono Super Ocean, but it fits me just fine. But it also has a 22mm lug width, that is the width of the bracelet. The chrono Super Ocean has a 20mm bracelet, which I find a bit narrow. I just like the looks of the bulkier bracelet. I also don't really have much use for a watch calendar that displays the day of the week as well as the date, but that's just me. It looks pretty impressive, though.
Like it has been said, you need to try them both on and then you will know. While you are at it, try on some other models as well. It never hurts, and you might see one that you didn't expect ending up being the one.
Cheers,
Carl

Just purchased my 1st Breitling. Also the black dial AS with ss bracelet. I also think it is the best looking watch they make! For me it was between the AS and the new SS seawolf with a blue dial. :lingsrock:

It is a little intimidating at first with Breitlings, but IMHO bigger is Better.

I like the day-date feature on the Chrono Superocean so that gets my vote. If you don't mind the size though, go with the Skyland but these are 2 watches you would really have to try on to feel the difference in size.

:) Hi,

Just for the record, I went to my AD today and changed my four month old CSO for a Skyland. I initially went for the CSO thinking the Skyland would be too thick on my wrist at 17.40mm, but this seems not to be very obvious due to the increased diameter of 3.40mm. My wife thinks I'm quite mad...But what the heck!......I blame it all on the Colonel for posting the pic's of his beauty in the gallery. The only problem is I'm now left with a 20/18 Croc and a Ocean Racer strap and nothing to put them on :(

Sounds like you need another watch....for the straps of course.

Two beautiful and expensive straps! To my mind, that is a wonderful excuse to go out and buy something that will give them both a lot of use!
Cheers,
Carl
