Turning the watch back and hour or two?

Is it cool to turn backwards?

From what I was told from my AD, you should only change the time in a clockwise direction.

I think you won't do any harm by moving the hands backwards if you are not doing that between 8pm and 3am.

Correct.

As long as the indicated time is not between 8pm and 3am at any point (i.e. before, during or after the adjustment) then you will be fine.

I might come out as really stupid here, but isn't the above stated only for watches with quick-date function?

The reason for my question, my former AD actually advised me for a "non-quick-date-watch" that I would go back and forth between 8-3 to conveniently set the date.

Absolutely correct. I tend to assume that's what people are talking about as most watches have a quickset date these days, but watches without the function can be wound back and forth across midnight to change the date. It always used to be only a few minutes either side, but with the Legende it does need to be a longer period.
