hey everyone,

i'm having problems with the date on my motors t. it doesnt roll over all the way after midnight. i'll check it in the morning and it will be stuck maybe 1/2 to 3/4 over, i.e., between dates, and i'll have to manually correct it. any idea what the problem might be? it did this once before last month, and i took it to the ad. they sent it to the service center and they gave the watch a clean bill of health. however, this happened again yesterday and today. do i need to go drop the watch off again?

thanks, jason

Hi Jason,

someone at your service center did a bad job then. I would recommend hitting him on his head with a heavy piece of metal (like a Bentley watch). The problem is, that watchmakers work at servicecenters, who are just humans and who are prone to making mistakes. Some form of punishment sometimes helps them improving their work quality. (Some praise usually works a lot better, but is not adviseable in a case like that)

Thanks Thomas,

So something is wrong with the watch, and i will have to take it back, right? any idea what the problem might be? Or if Watchmakeress could chime it, it would be greatly appreciated. :D

Hey Jason.. something similar to that happened with a Tag Heuer of mine a long time ago.. it was quartz, but something about the date wheel is damaged. It would only get stuck on a particular date.. it was always between the 20th and the 21st on my watch. I don't remember the particulars though, but I was told that turning the date wheel when the date change is occuring can cause that problem.

Admin, thanks for the reply.

The date got stuck on a different day last month. yesterday, i cycled through the entire calender (1-31) and reset the date. last night it went over without any problems. so i'm going to just keep an eye on it before i send it back to the ad. this watch is turning into a hassle, but when i look at that beautiful dial, i cant stay mad at it haha

Hello Jason
If the problem isn't at one particular day, then it is the tension of the date spring that is too strong, or a poor lubrication.... either way it'll have to go back to a watchmaker. Sorry... we do tend to be human sometimes and can make a mistake...

Hope it'll get fixed soon and appropiately!

Greetings,

Vanessa
